You're pigeon holing a bigger problem into Marotta.
Maybe it's time we all become realistic and understand that Juventus will not break the bank on one player. With a high transfer fee also comes a high wage packet that the club obviously doesn't want to take on.

Marotta isn't perfect but he also took on the club when it was in turmoil and juventus is still feeling the effects of its predecessors. I mean, Iaquinta is JUST coming off the books. Is that Marotta's fault? No, of course not.

One more striker and Juventus still won't have a team that can win everything but maybe one that can go deep in the CL and retain the league. You think one striker and Juventus is equal to Bayern, Barca etc.? I think they're a little bit further off, on paper but anything can happen in football

lets say juventus do get jovetic, lets hold that thought.

fwds: Jovetic, Llorente, Tevez, Giovinco, Vucinic
mid: Pirlo, Marchisio, Vidal, Pogba, Marrone, Giaccherini, Padoin, Pepe, Asamoah, (another player to replace Isla or a bench deep playing player)
def: Chiello, Barzagli, Bonucci, Obonga(if he comes), Caceres, Lichsteiner, Peluso, De Ceglie (we could use another wingback)
gk: Buffon, Storari, Leali

If we get those 4 players in a perfect world (jovetic, midfielder, cb and lb), we could win the Champions League no doubt about that.

We have a greeat team of players that already playing a trusted system developed by their almost 3 year old Coach in the team.

llorente, tevez, giovinco, and Vucinic (supposing that's what we get left with) and capture Jovetic would be a very good attack.

am hearing Conte is planning a back up 4-3-3
