Witcher 3

Seems like this is going to be a lot more popular than the previous games

CD Projekt Red has announced that pre orders has surpassed over a million

The marketing has been insane. Everywhere I go I see Witcher 3. Went to Gamestop to buy Dragon Age and I see Witcher 3 trailer on rewind. Watch video on YouTube, Witcher 3 ads come up. Watch Conan and see him reviewing Witcher 3.

BO3 is the most hyped game in stores atm in the UK. Not surprised either with the money it makes them.

The hype fest over christmas will be nuts

Star Wars Battlefront will be hyped out the ass because it's EA and because the new film hype will be in the air.

Then there's the standard Halo and COD hype.

Game is becoming too mainstream, not sure if Moal will like it.

Completed GTA V on two different systems

Gamespot gave it a 10, which they very rarely do

IGN gave it a 9.3 and Gametrailers gave it a 9.8.

Mole let me know how the game is, I'm not buying it until I know for sure they've made the world interesting and it isn't just full of fetch quests.

Actually no, I'm not going to blame IGN for this since other reviewers do it as well. They list major faults of the game then at the end they slap a 9 or 10/10 at the end like the issues don't matter. We saw this happen with many games last gen, Skyrim I think being the most notorious.

Pretty much everyone else says the opposite, the only negative i'm really seeing is the framerate which in almost review mentions that that's being fixed in a day one patch.

Although it's conflicting information, almost every reviewer seems to say that the patch wasn't in the review code and he's only the one saying that it was

I'm thinking of just getting this on PC, so that I can brute force my way through any issues. ProjectRed focus most on PC anyway so it might be best to dip in there.

Haven't experienced any crashes myself tbh

If you have a PC good enough to run it, i'm not sure why you would even contemplate getting it on console anyway....

Because I'm a lazy ass.

I'm so used to playing on console since most games I play are MP focused and all my mates are on Xbox, so gaming on PC is a no go for me most of the time, unless I'm playing PC exclusive stuff like Total War

Since TW3 is a SP game I'll probably get it on the PC since I don't have to worry about leaving anyone behind.

You know what I hate most about PC discussions for new game releases? Some unwitting douchebag will come in and post specs for a £1000+ machine and then candidly ask, "Will my PC run this game better than my PS4/XBO?"

Even the untrained eye will be able to tell that the 2015 trailer looks a lot worse - the trained eye will notice major graphical features missing. Not going to blame CDR though - the next gen consoles weren't out when they released the trailers and tbh there is no way a mid-range laptop GPU is going to be able to pull off some of the features in the original trailers.

I'm not even going to blame CDR for not publicly admitting it and doing so anonymously - I doubt Sony and Microsoft would be too pleased if the devs of one of the most marketed games in the past few months said "Sorry we couldn't make Witcher 3 look as good as we intended because next gen consoles aren't actually that next gen".
