FIFA 13: Howedes vs Badstuber

Hey guys, when I play with Germany, I have to sweat my * off trying to decide between Howedes and Badstuber..

From what I've noticed (stats aside), Badstuber is MUCH better at tackling and is MUCH stronger.

However, Howedes is MUCH MUCH quicker and wins a LOT more headers than Badstuber.


So I noticed that if I am playing attacking, Howedes is better suited for me as he is better at stopping counter attacks against my team. He is also much more effective during corners or when I have to clear crosses out of the box since he almost ALWAYS wins his headers (due to his awesome marking skills).


Badstuber on the other hand provides better tackling and can hassle opponents off the ball much more effectively than Howedes. However, despite what his stats suggest, he cannot defend crosses as well as Howedes. Either way, against opponents who don't use the flanks as often, Badstuber gives me a better performance.

Since I can't decide, I wanted to know what you guys think? Who do you prefer and why? A detailed answer would be very much appreciated.

I was about to say the exact same thing lol..

Hoewedes comfortably.

I love defenders with versatility and he's definitely got that. I pick him every time over Badstuber for Germany.

Also, what are you opinions on playing Sven Bender in CB position? I know I get a better performance out of Howedes than Bender, but just between Badstuber and Bender, who do you think is better?

Bender has same speed as Badstuber (if not a little more), but worse than Badstuber in terms of heading.

However, his specialty in tackling and interception make him incredible in terms of pure defense..
