Kit Harington (Jon Snow) is descended from the first Norman King of England, William the Conqueror... also known as 'William the Bastard'.

I have a question. I have seen the whole TV show (what's come out so far). Now, I'm contemplating whether I should read the books or not. I already know the story line and the major plot twists, but I also know that the books are huge and go into much more detail. So could someone that has read the books tell me if it's worth reading the books, after I've already seen the show?

Speaking of names, who would be brave enough to name their son 'Eddard'?

I might name him Raul Rhaegar Laughing

Yes. I have read the books after watching the first 2 seasons and I enjoyed reading every page. GRRM's writing will blow your mind and in my opinion, reading the book was a much greater experience than watching the show(which I think is a fantastic show, mind you). You must totally read the books, man.

I started reading it. I've only read the first couple pages, but it looks interesting! bounce

You'd probably need to do one set per league, far too many clubs to categorize otherwise.

For the PL the most obvious is surely United and House Lannister.

The more I think about it Barca most closely resemble Stannis Baratheon: somewhat ugly and misliked, but effective commanders, principled and believers in the one true god fo football.

Can't decide if Juve are Frey or Bolton hmm

Milan is House Greyjoy, since we "prize that which is bought with iron (taken by force) rather than that which is bought with gold (money), and have no use for those not willing or able to take what they desire" Proud

GoT nominated for the emmys for best dramas. Fantasy shows rarely do get nominated, but I think GoT has a real chance.

First season of GOT wasn't nominated? Not taking anything from the great third season, but season 1 was near perfect and superior to season 3 imo. And it wasn't even nominated at that time?
