Sounds weird all right, perhaps it's the pressure of the impending home World Cup, wanting to grab every opportunity to see more of those players who are not certainly in the squad, unlike Neymar.

Honestly, i think this is more the players wanting to go. They're not assured a spot in the WC squad and they don't want other players to get an advantage over them. This is a once in a lifetime event for a Brazilian player... a WC in their home country.

Make that squad is much more important than a Bayern treble for them.

NT has a right to do that. Brazil has no qualifiers. This training camp and the confederation's cup will decide almost everything for them and is the only semi-competitive event for their NT prior to the WC.

I know France NT was fuming at Madrid last year for not releasing Benzema for the Euro camp early because of a late May friendly in the middle east lol. So clubs do shat like this too.

If anybody is to blame here it's the organisers of the cup. As people have said the dates for FIFA events are made known very well in advance, the final should have been played earlier to avoid anything like this.

Good points... Except they're letting Neymar go to a bloody press conference and be 4 days late vs. 1 day late.

If it was about fitness there's Mineiro players, who play 1 day earlier in the Copa and are also not guaranteed starters.

According to our FA,Dante and Luis Gustavo have to be present with the NT by Saturday at 16:00 or else they wont be eligible to play the Confed Cup according to FIFA's legislation.Its not our FA being dicks, its the Confed Cup legislation.We cant go into this competition without 2 key players.At least that is what the FA is saying.

The FA is flat out lying. FIFA's regulations have a 4 day before tournament start deadline.

This is why Japan and Spain are letting their players finish La Liga and Der Pokal.

I know Santos made the squad last month - thought he might have sneaked in again lol.

If that is true then its downright stupid and they will have some explanation to do.But im sure that Dante and Luis Gustavo pressured Bayern to let them go.The exact same situation happened with Kaka back in 2007 and he didnt play the Copa America

@Ganso it's pretty well documented that Gustavo and Dante are extremely upset at being blackmailed like this. Of course they want to go, but one day later.

I'm not a mindless hater, any way you look at it the Brazil FA are being hypocritical pricks.

Nerman is going to be presented to Barcelona on "HIS OFF DAY" which all the players a given after the friendly on Sunday.

Sure you can argue which is more important, the WC or the Club treble.


But the fact is, it's the National teams FA that are making them pick one or the other and that's wrong.

At the end of the day it's the Club that pay your wages, they pay you to play. Playing for your NT is obviously an honour, but when the FA are pulling stunts like this then they're 100% in the wrong. And I'd have a few choice words for them if I was one of the players.

As a Bayern fan, these guys aren't even Brazil starters so it'll be a waste of their time. Plus, it means less annoying international sessions and more focus on what Guardiola is going to implement, along with less risk of injury.

If the Brazilian FA are stupid enough to blackmail 2 quality players for their own selfish needs... they can suck it.
