Higuain starting over Benzema in Champions League

I'll repeat that Benzema's best performances in a Madrid shirt have seen him as a sub.

Higuain might not be doing as well as Benzema, however it's not just about form too. It could depend on the game what striker plays. 1st leg Higuain was ineffective, so playing Benzema would have been reasonable.

being a benz fan has nothing to do with this, its all on higuain cl performances up till this point proves he is not a cl worthy striker, that is the point that everyone is tip toeing around look at the stats ffs, remember the lyon game? those miss chances? its the same how many years later?

it has everything to do with it because youre not objective.

take this situation: lets say higuain has a better goal scoring record in CDR but has been a ghost in the 5 matches leading up to the CDR semi final. benzema has played better in those 5 matches

who do you choose?

I love Higuain just as much as I love Benzema.

Benz is Benz - there's things we as a team can do to put him in a position to succeed - and we don't do them. He's a demanding player - it takes alot for him to get up and play as hard as he should.

In my opinion he is worth it because he's not just talented but completely selfless in his play a combination of qualities I see unbelievably valuable.

The fact that we expect to be reciprocated with consistency and full engagement is stupid. It probably is a negative character trait on his part...but hey - it's us who choose not to bypass it.

And this *bleep* debate is one I have never engaged in because it's absolutely pathetic and pointless. Neither forward have much control over their performances....both are World Class, both are proven, both play well together. One big foolish mess about two players who would tear shit up if they were allowed to play together freely.

@Zealous - his best performances (and I think the teams' in general ) come when we are desperate. When he's coming on as a sub in a big game - that's usually the case.

Benzema: 18 goals and 18 assists in 2500 mins this year. Pretty good for moping around.

And he doesn't mope around. He's not a pure 9. He finds spots to have ball played to him so that he attacks the box with the ball. He's not an off the ball type striker. Higuain is a pure 9. Styles are completely different. Issue is that we rarely play him the ball when he's open so he ends up standing there open lol.

Imagine Rooney when CR7 was there... that's what Benz is except that he doesn't get to start every game.

nice try deez your question is obvious, but reality is both are playing shit, none as been clearly better leading up to this game that is the problem im having with this selection

i have no problem with higs starting as long as he is clearly the better choice but he wasn't this time especially after the first leg where he showed lots of limitation
