Higuain starting over Benzema in Champions League

It is an absolute, total non sense. Higuain is a mickey mouse players, and isn't good enough to play in the biggest competitions agains the best clubs. Today was another exemple of that terrible weakness. Benzema, coming up at the 60th, gave a goal and an assist. He is the champion's league player by excellence, his stats in the competitions are always great.

Higuain in CL: 48 matchs, 8 goals

Benzema in CL: 53 matchs, 31 goals

Higuain goal ratio is ridiculously bad. Even for a midfielder, it would be bad, lett alone for a striker.

Real Madrid has to ship him out if they want to go further in the CL. Higuain is simply not good enough.

Really disappointing from Higuain. I mean it's not the firs timet he's done this. Benzema just offers so much more even if he isn't scoring and he's way better in the CL.

Higuain is a good player, however he just isn't the elite striker we need to finish in the big games.

This debate just keeps raging on it seems and it always goes the same way. Benzema's best performances at Madrid have always been when he was a sub, there are plenty of games where he started and did very little.

Anyway I'm proud of both guys, they played well.

A little harsh, Higuain isn't shit but I have always believed Benzema is the better player.. Individually and for the team as a whole

I don't get how a player like Higuain has done 7 seasons (!!!) in Madrid when even good players can be kicked out of this club. Does Higuain possess some secret and embarassing files about the club?

Ronaldo for me should be getting slammed right now, not Higgy.

You are entering an entirely different argument here and i am not going to side with you there. Higuain, as a Real Madrid player, has been very good. he did some wonderful things here and greatly contributed to some la liga wins. he may not be a star striker, but he is a quality player any team should aspire to have. He has heart, he is committed, and he is passionate about the club.

deez and some others needs to stop acting like running around endless into offside is brilliant, higs is not doing anything to justify starting, plus he has always been poor in cl, even last season when everyone was performing at maximum he still sucked, he is not good enough in cl why is that so hard to admit?

Dude Benz has been shit prior to this game. Mou wouldn't be able to justify starting him over Higgy. Hindsight is a beautiful thing.

ok tell me all the brilliant things higs did with his cl starts?, im not saying benz has been impressive but i can't see how higs has been better, at least benz is cl proven and he has always save us when mou drops him

i find it hard to discuss a higgy v benz debate with a benz fanboy.

but here is basically the situation for mou: 2 terribly out of form strikers. 1 is doing a bit better than the other. which one do you pick? obviously the one who has been playing a bit better. and that choice is higuain.

but ya, in hindsight its easy to run your mouth and say what should have been, but the fact of the matter is you say higuain did nothing to justify starting.. well if youve watched madrid lately neither has benzema- even less so.
