Vucinic: 'Juve don't need Sanchez'

Mirko Vucinic denied he is inconsistent and insisted Juventus “do not need to sign” Alexis Sanchez next season.

The striker has come in for criticism from the media and Bianconeri fans, particularly after the Champions League exit to Bayern Munich.

“It’s false to say I am an inconsistent player,” the Montenegrin told Sky Sport Italia.

“I always give everything I’ve got on the field of play.”

Following the quarter-final elimination from Europe, many have been calling for Juve to bring in a ‘top player’ like Barcelona’s Sanchez or Liverpool’s Luis Suarez.

“Sanchez is a great striker, but Juventus have the best attacking line-up and are already competitive as things stand.”

I agree we don't need sanchez, not a goal threat and we need a goal threat.


But Ibra... yes we need a player like that to help us compete with the best.

Also, Vucinic is out most consistent striker, people confuse being slow with being inconsistent.

yeah having ibra vucinic and llorente in our attack, we will be a goalscoring machine, impossibru to defend against these beasts

Sadly, we haven't seen that enough this season. He definitely has the talent to be a 20 goal scorer and also provide 10 assists. Injuries destroyed him this season. I'm still a fan but I had higher expectations for him this season, after a pretty decent first season with Juventus.

That goal had me off my fkn couch within half a second. And what's even better is twice in a row Vucinic has knocked Milan out of the cup in extra time 2 years running

I think next season he'll be better. He's had like 2 bouts of the flu among other physical injuries for a long time.

When he scored that goal I went absolutely insane. Shame he hasn't scored more this season.
