Here's my hybrid formation for Madrid/Dortmund, tried to be as unbiased as possible:


Obviously players like Higuain, Gundogan, Di Maria, Ramos and Rues are left out but I think anyone of those could be in the formation and it would still be fair.

This H2H comparison is the biggest BS I have ever seen. Teams are geared to playing with the players they have. Bayern are the best overall team and once they beat Barcelona they wil in my mind be #1. They have already outclassed a better RM team, they have surpassed Dortmund and they will most likely defeat Messilona.

This is just based on what I have seen. Madrid are the weakest team out of the 4.They have a losing h2h toboth German teams.

I think he's more assured in the box. Although I think under normal conditions Iker would be the GK of this hybrid team anyway

Well, IMO Roman Weidenfeller has a great presence in the box, too, and he exudes confidence which assures his defensive line. And going just by stats, his save percentage is around 78% for a while now and he can make big saves, too. (Poor guy just never got on Jogi Löw's right side, no matter how much he would have deserved a call-up, too).

Yeah I agree he is good but to be honest I've only ever seen him in the CL so I don't know that much about him. I've seen him make some mistakes in the CL so I'm basing it off that.

And where is Kehl? He is easily better than Khedira and Bender for me and the most underrated part of Dortmund's squad. Shame.

I like Weidenfeller but he reminds me of Abbiati. Very intelligent, commanding and composed yet too old and slow to save penalties or other spectacular saves to which Lopez has calmly been doing for years and now at Real Madrid. Lopez the better GK.

Well, in the last 3 seasons, Weide had to face 8 PKs, 3 of which he saved. That is IMO still an okay value. In the same time, Diego López faced 8 PKs, and saved none of them, Iker Casillas faced 12 and saved 2. (PKs in competitive matches, no shoot-outs as for those I don't have the data at hand)

Stats like these will reveal minor incidentals yet the question also can be unearthed on who Lopez faced v who Weidenfeller faced. That would be interesting.
