Nothing special about a guy who has pretty close go 1 goal/game at Napoli, playing in serie A. No he's not going to tear defenses up, but neither did Pippo Inzaghi...

No Cavani doesn't look anything special because he's a finisher. Not a dribbler, playmaker or whatever else.

Also, ML has a good point. Iaquinta, Bendy, Anelka, one of the current strikers and Melo earn more than Ibra after tax. (Combined obviously)

Cavani is head and shoulders above both Higuain and Benzema.

And btw he's definitely got waaaay better technique than Inzaghi.

oh he is clearly playing better than both, no doubt about it. you can say he is currently better for sure. yet i wouldnt trade for him. it's a matter of form and him being n1 at Napoli without that silly competition we have at Madrid. Other, he aint doing nothing i havent seen Higuain or Benzema doing when they were on hot streaks.

I didn't presume you rated Inzaghi, Inzaghi had poor technique but at the end of the day was one of the best at doing the most important job in football. Getting goals. At the end of the day the number 1 aim is to outscore your opponent in a single match and goalscorers help you do that.

If you don't rate a goal scoring machine, then you've got a terrible rating system.

It's like not rating a Ferrari because it doesn't do the job of a FIAT. :coffee:

Michu is a good player and at Madrid (aside from Cristiano) it's always the player with the least hype that ends up doing well here. I think I know what Nick is saying, what's the point in signing someone for 50 million when there is a real chance that such a player will not be able to preform to a top level?

Cavani will have to hold Cristiano's towels at Madrid. He's a goal scorer which is great but we need our #9 to be someone willing to help out a lot defensively (Higuain) or at the very least help out with chance creation (Benzema). Cavani is a great player but his main strength is goal scoring and we already have someone who is great at that.

Michu would theoretically at least offer something different and with less hype there would be less pressure to do well.

Cavani is a workhorse defensively. He'll always get back and run non-stop.

He's not CL level.

He played well in La Liga with a "Barrio" team. He's done good in two different leagues. He might get found out eventually but come on you have to admit he has some quality eco smile

That would definitely help his case. For the record I think Cavani is awesome, I just don't think he would fit in this current team.

Inzaghi no technique? When will this myth stop?

Just take his goal vs Barca in the Joan Gamper, a goal people will remember as his most recent spectacular one. He has pulled off countless goals with fabulous technique. He is completely ambidextrous, can volley like no other, curls balls with finesse of a ballet dancer.

His intelligence in the box is incomparable to any one today. No one playing today comes close to him in that.

His minutes to goal ratio was insane along that he scored a ridiculous amount of clutch goals on the big stage when he was needed which is why Milan fans and many others rate him so highly.

Michu strikes me as another callegoat hardworker but a back up player at best

I still think we should keep one of benz or higgy and see how next season pans out for them brfore making drastic conclusions. let me remind you we have two spots to fill and should focus all our recources on that

No he isn't. Seriously there is no agenda here. I just think he's good and deserves a shot at at least being a back up at a big club.

Both Higuain and Benzema want to leave... it's not even a question of one being ok to stay if the other goes anymore. They're tired of playing next to CR7. You're starting to get the rumor mill moving on both players.

Very unhappy both of them... and it has nothing to do with each other anymore either.

i think they are more unhappy to still be competing with one another, dunno why they would have a beef with CR, considering he is doing their job lol.

higuain's been waiting for a contract renewal which hasnt happened, i can see why that bothers him, and we know his dad want him to have his own team. Benzema, well, he wants to be n10 somewhere so that's that lol.
