How did I end up supporting Manchester United?
Well, my father introduced me to football ever since I was 5. I used to play myself as a little kid, until I started concentrating on other things.
It was 1999 and all I knew until then about football is how to kick a ball, about the Romanian National Team, (although I was 6 and a half years old, I'll never forget how Petrescu scored between the legs of Seaman in the last minute in France98 and me and my father screaming like lunatics), the football team in my hometown and a few others. It was a bit past my bedtime and my father took me to watch the UCL final with him on the TV. The way United won absolutely fascinated me. The team remained in my mind but, unfortunately, living in a country where the Premier League was not covered and Internet was still a rarity, United remained somewhat of a distant sympathy for a few years, with only the UCL matches to watch whenever I caught them(Real Madrid springs to mind here). The distant sympathy evolved into a full-blown addiction by the time that the widespread internet and wider coverage of football competitions arrived in my country (mid 2000s). It was rarely a United match that I missed and whenever that happened I couldn't find my inner peace until I saw at least some highlights. Yes, I'm the guy who ran out of his own high-school prom to watch the UCL final against Barcelona (the second). Today, even though I left my country to pursue higher studies and a better life, whenever United plays, I'm in front of the TV, laptop or in the pub, no matter what. To my great regret and shame, I have never been to Old Trafford, but it's very high on my to-do list in the near future. It's actually embarassing that not a lot of us post to be honest.

Raised as a Utd fan by my dad. Bonded over football. Mesmerized by Yorke and Cole as a kid, CL final 1999 my best footballing memory. Been to Old Trafford a few times, but it's been far too long since I last went.

On 23rd of July I will finish all of my exams for this summer and I will get holiday. In the last 3,4 months I wasn't there for the United section because I had to learn for my graduation exams and now for the entrance examination at the Technical University of Cluj-Napoca (Bachelor's Degree), Faculty of Computer Science . When I'll be done with all of this, you'll have the old vladdy back .

hey everyone..Paul from Toronto here.

its very odd to see so few Utd posters considering the size of our fanbase and the success of the club, yet 4th place clubs like Arsenal and Inter seem very active  

More than half of the United fans from that list weren't active for a long time .

Massive United fan from Manchester, which hinders the haters . Only known SAF as manager through my life so these next few months will no doubt be testing, but I already have so many great memories that will keep me going.

About me, I've played youth level football and now completing coaching badges and my thirst for knowledge and opinions has brought me here.

I hope it is a long a successful relationship
