Very haphazard in the way they're playing. Honestly, I can't figure out what system they're trying to run. You see players bunched together, making runs into same zones, etc.

Any decent team will completely shut you down in the final 1/3 if you're so disorganized.

dani alves playing too narrow, ganso choking, neymar and robinho wasteful, no marcelo, pato was good though.

Pato starting is hilarious, he always chokes for Brasil. ALWAYS.

Robinho looks lost not being able to play on the left and its obvious Brasil are missing a target man upfront.

Restricting Neymar to the left all game is a waste, at least give him the freedom to move across the line.

Ganso and Neymar are creating all the chances and really they shouldn't be.

This is where they miss players like Marcelo and Kaka. Kaka may not be in the best form but he has the experience and skill to get them out of this situation. Marcelo is far better and creating chances and opening up the play than Santos.

Very very very poor coaching.

The field is spaced badly, transitions are poor, roles unclear, etc. I mean wow. Are they even coached or is this beach football?

Sometimes you play your system and you just hit a brick wall... But dude, what was the plan tonight? Just get the ball forward an everyone figure it out?

I'd rather have poor performances by players and a system breakdown. This was a system breakdown. Players were just confused out there.

When Fred came on I face-palmed irl lmao

In any case you could clearly tell they missed the likes of Kaka and Marcelo.

Santos really? The guy couldn't create chances in a brothel with a midget and Kaka's experience and ability still far exceeds those of Ganso atm even in his present condition.

Worst coaching I've seen of a team of this caliber since Maradona in World Cup Qualifying with Argentina.

Besides the personnel questions... Bigger issue was tactics and coaching. You have to have some plan out there, even against weaker teams. Not that Argentina is any better.

NT coaching tends to suck with some rare exceptions. Only Germany and Italy consistently have good coaching,

I think that when you face very organized "park the bus" teams is when your coaching and discipline show themselves... In a positive or negative way. When the game is open and flowing, it's easy.

That's why Barca is so good. They are such a well oiled machine that you cannot park the bus with them effectively. They will still create chances because they are fantastically coached.

Argentina and brazil are suffering from bad coaching IMO.

Yeah, but Brazil had Ronaldo, Carlos, Ronaldinho(just 2002, 2006 was a disaster) Pele, Garincha(or how the heck do you spell it) etc.

Now as "Star Status" in Brazil have: Daniel Alves, Julio Cesar. Second class players: Pato, Robinho, Neymar, Ganso, Lucio. And the rest are average or below that

we are mostly playing potential here, because all we care about it 2014 and the olympics,so in 2014 these players are supposed to become better.
Nobody here in brazil is expecting the trophy

Can't argue over what Brasil expects in terms of whether they want the trophy as I don't live there but I do know they expect something better than what was seen today.

I know Pato suppose to be this awesome potential waiting to be let loose or whatever but he really doesn't shine much for Brasil. I'm ignoring age at this point in time because when much is given, much is expected and he has the #9 jersey. Some may say Pato was good but I would say otherwise.

And it's about that time Robinho sees the bench. Really trying to understand why he still gets called up and the coach chose Fred over Hulk? Hulk has discipline issues but oh gosh, Fred?!

Actually, i give the players a break... especially Pato. Everyone on the Brazil team is trying to be the superstar goalscorer. So Pato is often impeded by players who aren't supposed to be there.

He seems a bit rusty. But that's to be expected.

Team needs an identity and an organized style that the players can buy into. This will never work in big competitions. You're just asking to get upset by a lesser team.
