Top 5: Pirlo, Xavi, Iniesta, Schweinsteiger, Vidal.

Other top CMs: Marchisio, Montolivo, Fabregas, Y. Toure, Alonso, Pjanic, De Rossi, Kroos, Aquilani.

Players that you should not even mention as being top 5 atm (or I will laugh at you): Wilshere, Arteta, Khedira, Ramires, Carrick, Scholes, Barry, Cambiasso, Guarin, Bradley, Gundogan, Inler.

Players I don't consider to be CMs (just in case people mention them - even though they wouldn't crack the top 5 anyway): Busquets, Cabaye, Modric, Fellaini, Carzola, Silva, Sneijder, Gerrard, Lampard, Nasri, Hernanes, Ozil, Luiz Gustavo, Kehl.

Xavi, Schweinsteiger, Marchisio, Vidal, Pirlo.

Iniesta plays in a CM position but is more of an AM. Kroos too. Fabregas is closer to being a FW at this point than a CM.

I guess CM = a playmaker CM? Not a B2B player like Vidal, Khedira etc.

Also Modric is a CM.

Why not midfielders? Take out the CM thing because I am sure most are sick and tired of the constant classification of what players play where. We talk more about that than the players at times.

We need to realise that positions are relative. For one club your one thing, for another you would be something else, it dont matter. You are what you are, what position you play is irrelevant.

Midfield...somewhere in the middle of the pitch. Not the wings, not the defence third, not the attacking third.
