Re: Shinji Kagawa
baines? lol i havent heard a news about us and him.
Nani>giggs. Giggy can only play partially nowadays, he's too old.
Fletcher is comming back, and he's probably a better holding mid than kagawa :[ Maybe kagawa will be CM replacing scholes. We still have anderson though. Hate using CM/AMC as a DM....that just doesn't make any sense to me.

I think we'll off load Ando in the summer. Hope we sign Kagawa, quality player for a reasonable price but id prefer hazard out of the two.

Reports made by German tabloid Kicker has announced that this deal is done and dusted. Saying he will put pen to paper once he has finished international duty with Japan.

Re: Shinji Kagawa
maybe 4-2-3-1 to accomodate for the extra wingers and rooney up front alone (since berva and owen will be gone). We need a holding mid though. Carrick isnt a destroyer....scholes can't tackle for shit :Imeteormaker wrote:So does this mean that we are going to do away with the 4-4-2?
lol.com reported that the wage demand for kagawa is like 100k per week. That's outrageous. Even valencia, nani, carrick and evra don't even have such a wage. I think that if it's true, we're pretty desperate right now. Why not wait a little longer and identify better targets?

Re: Shinji Kagawa
Look!
Reports in Germany last night claim United have all but agreed a €15m euro fee with Borussia Dortmund that could rise to €22m (£18m).
Dortmund sporting director Michael Zorc is quoted as saying there are only a few details to be ironed out which could mean Kagawa signs on at Old Trafford in June.
It appears as though the Japanese star was United’s second choice as the club had ample opportunity to get the deal done before he left to link-up with his national team last week.
But Hazard’s announcement yesterday that he had decided to join the “Champions League winner” meant United needed to act fast to avoid a double disappointment.
Kagawa is set to play in three World Cup qualifiers in the next fortnight, against Oman, Jordan and Australia, after which United hope he will arrive in Manchester for a press conference.

Re: Shinji Kagawa
I'm guessing a 4-2-3-1 but I tend to be an idiot on this sometimes. My take:
----------------------De Gea----------------------
Raf---------Ferdinand------Vidic----------Evra
-----------------Carrick-----Giggs!--------------
Nani\Valencia-----Kagawa-------------Young
---------------------Rooney-----------------------
Nani, Valencia and Young can switch flanks depending on who's on form, Cleverley, Scholes (!) and Fletcher (hopefully) can share that CM role (or at least we need another CM (Modric?), and as far as I am concerned Welbeck/Chicharito cannot operate as lone strikers.
Ando I think along with the Berba and Owen are being courted by other clubs ATM and Fabio will be on loan.

or rooney can play a deep lying forward role while giving kagawa a rest once a while with chicharito or welbeck up front! or like the ozil role (right behind the main striker). that wouldn't be bad at all! united is well known for our versatility. It would be cool if we can also train welbeck and chicharito, both being fox in the box to inside forward. They can play wide and cut in like ronaldo imo if being retrained. Our wingers are plenty, but valencia and nani have been struck with injuries one after another :[

Shinji Kagawa
Kagawa didn't play well for us after his transfer like many other players who moved to Man UTD.Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson had to play a lot of games before reaching a decent level of in game maturity. This should be enough to make us believe that Kagawa isn't lost and we have to give him time. He's unlucky with the form of RVP (also a summer transfer) that makes Kagawa's performances to stay deeper in the shadow, but the dutchman was already world class at Arsenal.
Kagawa was also injured for two months. That is also a long period for any player.Anyway, I don't expect Kagawa to ever be for MUTD the player he used to be for Dortmund because even at his peak, in English Premier League it is harder than in Bundesliga to play like a Japanese Messi.
Last season he was the best dribbler and best passer in Bundesliga. It's obviously that he is a very talented boy, but this stats won't be easy to reach in EPL.Many fans criticized him saying he is the biggest disappointment this season.I gave you the reasons why I believe he isn't a flop and I want you to have some patience with him.
Glory !

Re: Shinji Kagawa
He's been unlucky with 2 things. The fact that he isn't playing in his favoured position- behind the striker and the fact that he has had injuries stunt his impact at the club.
I can tell he is gonna be a great signing. The signs are the for all to see. His movement, his passing ability and his knack for getting into good positions. This is a quality player. We need patience.
He looked really rusty and short of confidence v West Ham yesterday. But the more game time, and the more he will grow with this team. Also he needs to bulk up badly. He looks far too lightweight and is easily bullied off the ball by opposition players.
1) We need to play a system in which he will shine.
2) have a good run of games
3) Bulk up.
= a star player in the making.

Re: Shinji Kagawa
he still has his Knee wrapped if you guys didn't notice so he still isn't 100% he was great i thought to begin the year when he was healthy...but yes hopefully these next few weeks with Rooney out and regain of 100% health he see's more games in his favoured position and shows glimpses of what made him the bundesliga player for the year last year.
only an idiot who doesn't watch or follow United would say hes a flop

Re: Shinji Kagawa
Kagawa played very well against Liverpool. His in-field relationship with his teammates, especially with Young, Evra and Cleverley improved a lot.
He looked calm and confident with the ball and showed us some great dribbles on Gerrard and Allen. He also had some bad moments, but those moments were caused by the entire team; we were surprised by L'pool's attitude in second half and we should have reacted better but Carrick and Evra were very uninspired and they've shown some lack of concentration.
It is the first game when Kagawa impressed me with his movement full of ease and his passing vision. He easily found his teammates in the midfield area and looked like he was at a training session being detached by the pressure and also showed up in the second half with a dangerous shot from outside the box.
Well done Shinji !

Another good game for Kagawa, but this time he looked a little bit fragile in front of the 'big guys' from Spurs.Anyway, it is good that he plays a lot of minutes.I hope he won't get injured this season.

Re: Shinji Kagawa
United fans inspire Kagawa
Shinji Kagawa is loving life at Old Trafford and says Manchester United's supporters give him extra belief when he's on the pitch.
The Japanese international, who signed for the Reds from German champions Borussia Dortmund last summer, spoke exclusively to United Review ahead of Southampton's visit to Manchester on Wednesday night.
"I’m in a fantastic environment, training every day with top players," he said. "At the same time, being with a big club like Manchester United, I know we are always expected to win trophies, which I haven’t accomplished yet.
"I love playing at Old Trafford, though, and I’m always amazed by the atmosphere of the stadium.
"We’ve managed many come-from-behind wins this season, which is very difficult. But if we go 1-0 down and then equalise, the feeling of unity between the supporters and players is incredible.
"Those moments encourage the players and make us feel like we can score another goal at any time."
Sir Alex's men found themselves 2-1 down against Wednesday night's opponents back in September before Robin van Persie rescued the Reds with a dramatic hat-trick. Kagawa remembers the match well and admits it's a thrill to play alongside the Dutchman.
"It’s not only that game at Southampton [where I've been impressed with Robin]. He’s a player who can do a crucial job to win in almost every game.
"It’s a wonderful experience for me to be able to play with him. It’s always encouraging to have players like van Persie and Wayne Rooney when you’re attacking."
Fans attending the Southampton game can read more from this interview in the official matchday programme, United Review (available for £3).

A couple of missed place passes at the start, but he really grew into the game. The third goal was just delightful. Next season we'll see him really come into his own. Has given SAF something to think about if he wasn't planning to play him on Tuesday.
