Re: Persona 5
Palace 5 is a massive downer. One of the worst things I've played in the last year, really tedious dungeon.

I agree. Worst palace, by far.

Re: Persona 5
Yup, Palace 5 and the whole story around that is considered the weakest part of the game by a lot of people. Though as a set-up of what's to come it's not too bad.

Re: Persona 5
Is the 5th palace the one with the awful air shaft puzzle?
I decided I'm not gonna replay the game because of that lol.
I didn't mind it apart from that though.

Re: Persona 5
The whole place is just annoying. Three big puzzles, plus a lot of going back-and-forth and annoying enemy types. Not hard as such, but very tedious.

Re: Persona 5
It's not that it's hard, it's that it's incredibly annoying and pointless.
I hate puzzles which end up in a maze of some sort anyway. Bane of my *bleep* existence, i always get lost without fail.

Re: Persona 5
I was just annoyed with the air shaft puzzle and constant backtracking in general, I'm right at the end though. Didn't help that I was solving that puzzle at 3:30am like a zombie. I'll use a guide for it on my second playthrough so it shouldn't be too hard. A guide was pointless last night becuase I'd already done half of it before getting stuck, that said I looked online and almost everyone is saying it sucks and it took them like 30+ mins, I did it in about 10-15 lol mostly just winging it. Still really annoying.

Re: Persona 5
omg *bleep* the 5th palace boss wtf
pure horeshit, gotta go through a huge bs gauntlet and then it brings out that BS boss at the end when I have like half SP, it just 1 shot all of my chracters after 20 mins
the game is great but the bosses are bollocks because they never have any weaknesses and just become a battle of attrition

Re: Persona 5
You should prepare better and have extra SP to replenish yourself imo.
Don't think it was that hard tbh, 4th palace boss is by far the hardest I have played personally.
Rest have been pretty easy.

Re: Persona 5
tbf I did jump into this Palace, did it in 3 game days/2 trips and I didn't prepare at all, true. I know to actually buy stuff next time, lol. All of the palaces were easy until now though.

Re: Persona 5
I always prepare lol, it's the Witcher 3 in me lol.
Also they give you so many days that there is literally zero point in rushing through the palaces tbh.

Re: Persona 5
My approach to bosses/enemies without weakness is to go purely physical. I have a healer (usually Morgana) to keep the health up, and have the PC go pure support (with a Persona that isn't weak to the boss so he doesn't get *bleep*). Buffed up Ryuji and Yusuke can dish out tonnes of damage.
Other approach: get Ann strong enough to know Fire Amp and Fire Boost (+75% damage for fire skills), use Concentrate (double damage) then a fire move. She'll dish out damage in the 1000s. Even without Concentrate and Fire Amp she'll do huge damage.
Haru can dish out huge damage as well with her Gun skills + boosts.

Re: Persona 5
Jay is a true you can buy Aluminum sheets eventually at the second hand shop? I'm in October already, mid October. Trying to build the eternal lockpick, got all the Liquid Mercury which is apparently the thing ppl usually have to grind, got a few in Mementos but I still need 12 sheets, saw a few comments from ppl saying you can buy them eventually but I don't want to skip grinding for them to find out you can't
Also what's the deal with being able to fuse these Ultimate Persona from maxing confidants that aren't in your party? game told me I could craft a couple of the strongest persona of a certain class, I thought that meant I could fuse them instantly but I didn't see their names in the fusion lists

Re: Persona 5
I'm pretty sure I remember aluminium sheets in the pawn shop. You can only buy three at a time though.
Ultimate Persona are fused the same way regular Persona are. Some are special fusions so need more than two, while some are just fusions of two high level Persona. The required levels are usually anything between 60 and 96 though
So unless you have the Strength confidant maxed out and tonnes of cash, chances are you won't be fusing most of them on the first playthrough. Though I guess you could grind the Reaper if you have the time/will until you're strong enough

Re: Persona 5
ah that sucks, unless they start throwing mad XP at me I imagine I will finish first playthrough at lvl 60 or so at most. I'm at 8 or 9 for the Strength Confidant though.
though not too bothered, will 100% be doing a second playthrough

Re: Persona 5
What was that trick you mentioned about Network Fusions? do you just reload your save like a pos?
I've used it like 15 times and only gotten something a lvl or two higher than mine, nothing great, I use Arsene once a day (think that's what you said to do)

Yeah, that's exactly what I've been doing. And no, I don't save and reload, but I suppose that should work as well. All of my characters are level 100, though.. I don't know if it grants personas above your level.

Re: Persona 5
that sounds horrific if true, hoping you missed a safe room
I'm in the 6th palace now just about to enter November, should finish it this week
JAY, equipped items carry over you said right? anything you recommend buying before going into NG+
I have to admit I've barely looked at buying any high end gear from shop's
