Persona 5

Started it last Saturday. Up to the point where i had to find saitama's house so i can live there.

It's much different than I expected

Finished the new game last night.

It's like P5 with a raft of QOL improvements and a big chunk of extra story added at the end. If you enjoyed P5, you'll probably like Royal better.

That said, might not be worth full price, considering they don't add that much.

Finished Persona 5 Royal, took me over 130 hours

Dunno how they managed to pull it off but it made the original feel incomplete by comparison. It obviously wasn't but that's how much better it is by comparison.

What a game, if such games like TLOU part 2 and Cyberpunk among other things weren't this year it would be a lock for GOTY.

Did you get the true ending?

For me, of all the tweaks, revisions and additions they made, what they did to Mementos was by far the most impressive improvement. I literally cannot go back to P5 anymore because of it. They turned a grindy and dull dungeon into a place where you can make millions of yen in about 30 minutes and pick up a heap of useful items.

On the flip side, P5R is also a lot easier than the original P5 was, but it's kind of forgivable because it helps you get through the original story a lot quicker. Except for that one boss everyone complains about.

Wow, I wrote this off ever getting localized but here we are. Direct canonical sequel to Persona 5 but not a JRPG, hack and slash gameplay of Dynasty Warriors. Now Atlus pls port P4 Golden to PS4.

I'll probably pick it up a few months from now. Don't have much time for games, these days. I miss longer gaming sessions in the evening and nights, when I had little to nothing else to concern myself with.

Finished Persona 5 Royal. Took 120 hours ffs. Got the platinum. Platinum is much easier here, there's no trophies for finishing all books and games for instance.

Improved the base game by a lot. The QOL improvements like the DVD renting and you not being ordered to sleep so much is a Godsend. Mementos which I hated is much better now. Gameplay changes like Showtime, baton passing among all members and technical attacks made the game much easier. Best improvement is that guns reload after every battle.

The best part of the game is the new final arc. It was just fantastic. Such a better endgame than generic JRPG kill God. Speaking of generic, the new endgame also made anime trope Akechi the best character of the game. Everything about the third semester, the new Palace (best of the game), the villain and the soundtrack (good Lord they saved their best bits for their last and topped themselves, the new tracks are incredible) makes it one of the best segments in any game I ever played.

Out of all the improvements they made, the major thing that gets me is that they somehow made the worst part of Persona 5 even worse I am talking about the fifth palace. The new Okumura boss fight is cancer Game would've been a 10/10 if not for that.

But honestly the changes are not so vast that it should be a $60 game. Glad I picked it of for half off. I was getting bored from fourth palace onwards because I already done all this shit in the base game and the new changes were wearing off. Its a good thing I did not max out all confidants in the base game because thats what kept me playing. I would have dropped it if it was not for that, because it was something new for me. Learnt my lesson. Whenever Persona 6 comes out I'll know to wait a few years and get the enhanced edition.

Gonna start P5 Strikers next.
