Paraguay the dark horse? - Page 2 Empty Re: Paraguay the dark horse?

I think the Copa America is 3rd in most competitive international competitions, only after the World Cup and Euro. In the Copa, any of Brazil, Argentina, Uruguay, Paraguay, and even Chile or Colombia have chances to win it. But in the Euro any of Germany, Spain, Italy, France, England, Holland, or even Portugal can all have a chance of winning it. The Copa is above the Asian Cup though, as well as the Gold Cup which is basically USA versus Mexico, and the ACON as well, which is basically between Egypt and the Ivory Coast. But the WC is #1 obviously cause its all these teams in one.

What makes you think that? Competition is very close in the African Cup Of Nations, you have so many teams that are capable of going all the way. Egypt, Ghana, Ivory Coast, Cameroon, Algeria, Tunisia, Senegal, South Africa, and Morocco to name a few. It's one of the most competitive competitions out there.

The most competitive one is clearly the Asia cup, because roughly all competitors suck.

Nah, but I am kidding. Asia cup will grow etc.

Anyway, Copa America is cool, because there are relatively few very uneven matches like you have in the World Cup or even Euros (No North Korea - Brazil stuff)

PARAGUAY fans will be keener than ever for their team to land the Copa America after model Larissa Riquelme promised to pose nude should they triumph.

And Paraguay made a satisfactory start with a 0-0 draw against Ecuador in Group B, the same score as the Brazil-Venezuela match in the same group.

And Riquelme gave them extra motivation after making her promise, similar to one she also made during the last World Cup, earning her the sobriquet la 'Novia del Mundial' (World Cup girlfriend) in her homeland.

"If Paraguay win the Copa America then I shall pose nude on the pitch,'' she said as she gestured in the direction of the Brigadier General Estanislao Lopez stadium before today's match against Ecuador .

Even Peru and Bolivia who do not have a pretty talented squad got a desire to win and a good chemistry that will help them fight against any team.

Also, let's not forget the power houses like Argentina, Brazil, Uruguay

The Copa America is full of quality.

You forgot that Peru has Juan Vargas and Paolo Guerrero who are quality.

And Bolivia has Martins who I rate highly and Vaca who quite good.

At the risk of sounding biased since I'm venezuelan I think Venezuela were capable of reaching the semi finals or more if we didn't had such a retarded coach. His desitions are extremely politically influenced so some very good players didn't made the squad. But we'll see what happens anyway.

I completely forgot about them when I wrote this. I realized that they played for those national teams after watching the games and I was surprised as to how I missed such quality.
