Lost Young Talents
Basically what the title says. Young talents which you or others thought would succeed, but years later they are nowhere to be found.
I'll start with Roma's Okaka. Where on Earth is he now?

Re: Lost Young Talents
Fran Merida, Armand Traore, Jay Emmanuel-Thomas, Jeremie Aliadiere, Denilson, Kyle Bartley, Jay Simpson, and Henri Lansbury all come to mind as players who were expected to do big things in recent times for Arsenal but did not. Then there are Sanchez Watt and Craig Eastmond who were introduced even before Wilshere and are still on our books but are loaned out nonstop. Also, Ramsey isn't lost, but he has been really bad for the last 12 months too.

Re: Lost Young Talents
Ranieri made none too subtle references to Okaka being an idiot during his time as Roma's coach, I can't say I'm too surprised he has struggled to kick on.
It must be said though that plenty of players - some would argue the vast majority - continue to shine despite being less than brilliant off the pitch.

Re: Lost Young Talents
Okaka ) the less said about him the better, he got such horrible finish, an open net will evade his shot. Absolutely awful somehow Parma signed him permanently lol and loaned him the next day to Series B. He won't come back to Parma anytime soon and I suspect he will float around for a while.
Rosina, Dessena, Rossi, Cigarini (Parma golden youth generation, all next this next that) & Santacroce all are injured or sitting on their club bench atm. Cigarini doing not bad but no way to live up to next Pirlo.

Yeah Cigarini did not really live to my expectations, but so did Rosina.

Re: Lost Young Talents
Armin Bacinovic..
I really dont know what happened to this guy..I remember watching him in his 1st season at Palermo and i thought he was a really good talent he even managed to generate interest from the likes of Chelsea actually,he was playing that well.
But now he's at Verona in Serie B.lol..Injuries and lack of confidence is what eventually did him in unfortunately.
Daniele Gallopa as well but now he's injured i think.
Candreva would have fallen into the same category as well considering the hype he generated with Livorno only to fail to live up to the expectations at Juve but he's managed to rejuvenate his career with Lazio ,subsequently earning a deserved NT Call-up..He's actually outperforming Hernanes atm.

Wasn't there a 14 year old Paraguayan kid that Bayern signed in like 2007? I remember watching goltv news back then and seeing the story but I do NOT remember this kid's name.

Re: Lost Young Talents
Let's see.
Gio Dos Santos is an easy one , remembering all my Barcelona friends busting my balls saying he was the next Ronaldinho and all e.t.c i don't know where he plays anymore , i hope he is rotting in the Vietnamese 2 league , fighting for relegation
Another one that i would like to mention is Di Santo . According to him , he was going to be better than Messi or something like that . The Congolese League awaits Di Santo , there he can be considered better than Messi , though we will miss his jokes
Another top failure who's lost in oblivion now , is Bojinov . The proper propaganda with him.. Each and every time i've read or heard anything Bojinov , the phrase next-insert top player- just had to be in. I had convinced my self he retired , but he failed to meet expectations once again. All i can say is rot in Serie B Bojinot , we are all happy for you

Re: Lost Young Talents
Carlos Alberto.
Was doing pretty well for Porto as a youngster, even played and scored in the CL final vs Monaco under Mourinho.
Lasted only 20 something game overall and has ended up back in Brazil.
I dont know how he is doing there but for whatever reason, he never made in Europe like it seemed he should.
