Also, if they are playing better, that wouldnt mean anything either.

It is pretty much the same. But Messi has gone even better and others players are also improved over the year. Like Fabregas finally settling in.

Different playing style (it's more direct). Not same at all.
They're different managers and one of them is bringing in better results so far. That's how I see it.

There's the key it's far too early to say.... plus the style this season and Pep's first season isn't much different if at all.
If he goes and wins a treble then its something you can at least compare and even then he only equalled what Guardiola did in his first year.
Plus like Dani says Pep started all this and laid the groundwork for this success.
This is like claiming Capello deserves more credit for Milan's success than Sacchi.

The results?
People do realise they are just marginally better than 10/11 season?
The difference is literally 1 result.

Fair enough. Pep is the greatest manager and human being to ever set foot on this earth.
Doesn't matter he was managing Messi, Iniesta, Xavi and Puyol he'd replicate the success he had with Barca with any other club.

The results are slightly better, however Barca aren't playing better under Tito. I think there's a difference between the two.

Or meet somewhere in the middle where those of us with a brain are?
Pep was a great coach who did great things for us, the players are an amazing bunch who together won many things and broke many records.
Regardless of what happens after he is gone, it has no impact on what he did.

Re: Does Barca playing so well diminish Peps reputation?
And just FYI.
The three points won today against Espanyol mean Barça have 52 points, the same amount that they got in their best ever first half of a season in 2010/11
But with one game yet to go before the halfway stage of this edition, Barça will set a new record if they get a result next week in Malaga

Does the fact that Walt Disney built a company that is still a market leader 50 years after his death diminish his reputation?

Is Tito just the better manager or was Pep freeloading of all the talent his Barca team had
Discuss
Busquets is playing better because he's only 24 so it's only natural that he's improving every season. Especially for a defensive player experience is key. Which DM / deep-lying playmaker has ever peaked at 24? None. GOAT player. Imagine him with 28 in his prime.
Iniesta is better on the left wing now because he has Alba to link up with instead of a conservative Abidal.
Messi is also only 25 and hasn't peaked yet. Only natural that he'll keep on improving. On top of that he had a holiday break before the season started for the first time since ages (no World Cup, no Copa America, no Olympics). So he's fresher.
However I like Tito's approach more so far. Tactically he's more pragmatic. For example Barcelona has scored more goals from outside the penalty box than in any other season under Pep and it's only halfway through the season. The players seem to have a bit more freedom. Fabregas and Iniesta are taking more random shots. There is more determination to get into the box and lesser passing it around for passing's sake. Pep's Barca used to be extremely narrow. Tito utilizes a lot more wing play, spreading the ball out wide quicker and so on. If Pique and Puyol can stay injury-free, I don't see who could beat this current Barca in their current form (which keeps on getting better).

Re: Does Barca playing so well diminish Peps reputation?
Not to mention the fact that this season Barcelona are hungry for success, hungrier then before after losing at champions and title.
What Pep did for Barcelona is revolutionary for the team and Tito is continuing it while keeping the team together in a good environment (as far as we know)

Barca concede more shots per game under Tito.
