Re: Bacary Sagna is leaving...
There are not many players that can play like Cesc, he was someone special.Raptorgunner wrote:Exactly my point.urbaNRoots wrote:djoe26 wrote:I dont get the hate toward Ramsey and Frimpong. Neither is a Cesc or a Vieira, I think that's Raptor's point.
I have no hate towards Ramsey just frustrated by him, he is simply not good enouph to start for Arsenal. How many games does he need to show that he belong at Arsenal?
How many other EPL teams he would start for?
I know what you mean Raptor, i too get frustrated sometimes but i wasnt only talking about you. If you have twitter then you'll understand what i mean.

06...not that long ago..perhaps this is Arsenal's most not talked about problem.
Havent stuck to the same core for any reasonable length of time.
Yea, biggest mistake Wenger made in recent years was to Let Gilberto go. He was slowing down but he should have retired at Arsenal

As you know, I think Gilberto is perhaps the most underrated player I can think of. He indeed was slowing down, but his quite leadership and general calm was fantastic. Then as a player he would be perfect next to any midfielder you had in recent time from Diaby, to Cesc to, Rambo, to Jack or to Song. He can slot in with basically anyone.

Yea, His performance in the Confed cup 2009 was brilliant, shows it was a mistake letting him go. Still had few seasons in him, not just with performance but as u said, other attributes

Re: Bacary Sagna is leaving...
We had a great team in 07/08, Arsene should've build around that team and not sell everyone.
If you think about it, a better defense and keeper would have made Arsenal champions of many titles
Almunia
Sagna Toure Gallas Clichy
Flamini Cesc
Rosicky ------------------ Hleb
van Persie/Eduardo Adebayor

Gilberto wanted to leave because he was getting no games and Wenger trusted that Flamoney was gonna stay but in the end both left
Wenger needs to stop putting too much faith in his players

This has been our downfall, Wenger loves and trusts the players too much. I hope he has learned his lesoon and starts being a real BOOS and not a father

The good news is its only one player leaving us.
Usually there is 2 and the board sells one player out of no where so the most we could lose is, Theo and Sagna in January.

Not much else to sell and make much money on.

Re: Bacary Sagna is leaving...
We have already gone a little back from our youth policy.. Last 2 seasons, we have signed more experienced and older players.. Arteta has a 4 year contract at 29.. Rosicky got an extension when he was 31.. RVP could have had atleast 4 more years if he didnt choose bigmoney.. Vermelen and Koscielny are tied with long contracts.. Metskr too..
So i dont see much reason for us to hesitate giving Sagna a longer contract more than 1 year..

Re: Bacary Sagna is leaving...
i dont think there are any clear links.. Its all from an interview in which he revealed his frustration about us selling our star players, who he used to play with, since he came here.. and said may be he should have left like Clichy..Surag wrote:Who has Sagna been linked to btw ?
Inter Milan is a possibility.. And as usual Money City..

Vermaelen at CB replacing Toure, a better goalie, and another top class striker upfront and that team be the shit...
That midfield of Flamini, Cesc, Rozza and Hleb was so damn awesome. I mean the way we played that season was juz exciting, awesome, brilliant, orgasmic. Like many of you would say, we should've won the league that season. I mean the cohesion and fluidity in our play was crazy. And we only lost 2 games, lots of unnecessary draws during February to March fecked our title hopes up.

Re: Bacary Sagna is leaving...
Arsène Wenger is surprised by recent speculation surrounding Bacary Sagna - because Arsenal have held "positive negotiations" with the France right back.
Newspaper reports have linked Sagna with a move away from Emirates Stadium but his manager was quick to play down those rumours at his pre-match press conference on Friday.
"I do not understand this speculation," said Wenger.
"He [Sagna] has one and a half years of his contract to go, and we are in negotiations with him to extend the contract, which are very positive.
"So I am quite amazed by these statements because it is the complete opposite of the feelings we have with the player, and with the negotiations we have had about his extension."

If the worst happens and Sagna leaves, who would you prefer: Coleman, Debuchy or someone else?
