Would Wenger survive..
..the massive exodus his club is rumored to be about to endure?
The sale of Cesc, Nasri and Clichy?
how long will he be able to keep his job after that? (if it ever happens ofc)

Re: Would Wenger survive..
He's fine.
He always seems to find a replacement for any player.
Arsenal will go on. So will Wenger.
However, this does pose questions about player loyalty. Especially at Arsenal.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
It's not as bad as being made about imo.....
For instance Gervinho is just as good a winger as Nasri is imo( Nasri is definitely the better all round player though)
As for Cesc they have Wilshere and Ramsey and while they might possess the overall talent that Cesc has but they damn sure work alot harder than Cesc does dont underestimate how far work rate can take you.
And imo Wilshere is a much better big match performer than Cesc, he might not be the flat track bully that Cesc is but he is only 19 give him time.
As for Clichy, i think he's overrated anyway they can have Enrique for 8 million who imo is superior if they like
Plus around 60 million to strengthen the squad in anyway Arsene see's fit.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
If Clichy, Cesc and Nasri leave, I would be willing to bet that Arsenal sees Europa League after that. No more Champions League for a while
Wenger won't spend big to replace them, and will odds likely go after some young french or Masia talent that arent ready to perform at the levels Cesc and company were. In the mean time Liverpool, Chelsea, Man U, City and even Spurs will likely out spend them and Arsenal will eventually start to fall behind them.

If that happens then they have no chance next year. I think those players are pretty vital for them to have a successful season and a chance of winning the PL or CL.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
they could raise somewhere around 60-80m selling them 3. there's more than enough to find replacements. and wenger is a genius in finding cheap, very good players.
but he has to bring some experience in the squad if he wants to win something in my opinion. and some muscles in the center.

the day wenger finishes outside the top 4, he will resign. And since last 14 years, that day hasnt come yet

Exactly.
Arsenal always find replacements. The only replacement I feel they struggled to find till this season was one for Lehmanm.

I think this upcoming season, if he doesn't deliver a trophy, it will be his last.

I think in an ironic twist of fate they will win some silverware after selling the "big guns"

I know they will be. I'm curious about it actually.
but what does it say about wenger and him managing Arsenal? He isnt winning, isnt able to hold on to talent.
Reinventing the team is possibly going to make arsenal take further steps backward, specially when he will get a another group of younger players.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
I can't help but feel a great deal of trepidation going into next season. We're on the verge of losing Clichy, Nasri and Fabregas, and are being stingy with the funs we currently have and not paying an extra couple of million to actually conclude the Gervinho deal.
Knowing Wenger he won't go and buy real quality replacements, but go for the lesser known players.
The fans are growing more and more discontent with the dealings this summer and another poor season could very well the straw that breaks the camel's back.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
If Cesc, Nasri, Clichy, Denilson, Bentner all leave...I am sure Wenger will replace them but the question is will he find talent that's on a top level already? Odds are, instead of getting a top quality player he will go out and find young, cheap talent like that young Argentinian kid he was after. I think all this talk of getting players like benzima is him just trying to make his fans think he will actually spend big but when has he actually? I like Arsenal and I hope they can stay at a top level btw, it's just hard for me to see them keep it up with Liverpool and all these other clubs spending big

Re: Would Wenger survive..
The board don't give a shit as long as he makes them money. So he won't be sacked unless the fans go batshit crazy. Which they should, if we don't win anything next season.
Those guys can be replaced, thanks to the great youth talent we have. If not, then we DO have the money to buy quality, else Wenger comes up with those crazy quality signings he makes. CL football is minimum target, always.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
Those are not related...
If they go that's only a reason more for Arsenal to keep Wenger cause no other manager will find talent to step up for them. And honestly with the transfer policy Arsenal are running Wenger is the only thing keeping them afloat.
I would change the whole board rather then Wenger...

Re: Would Wenger survive..
i think they can manage to lose 2 out of the 3, clichy is the least needed imo. he could leave if it was up to me
nasri can be replaced easily if the gervinho deal gets worked out.
but losing all three would be terrible for team morale, and fan morale. and this isnt even taking into account the gulf in talent it would leave if the players werent replaced accordingly.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
They're screwed if Cesc goes. Wilshere and Ramsey are fantastic talents but they're nowhere near as creative as him.
Nasri isn't a big loss and Clichy has been rubbish years now. Pretty much every decent winger/striker targets him.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
The chances of all 3 leaving this summer are extremely slim. However, if that does happen, I still think Wenger will be safe for the start of the season as long as the team gets results - it's not as though he is solely to blame for the possibility that they may leave. The problem is that the team will not have as good of results if all 3 leave, even if they are replaced.
So, to answer the question, if all 3 leave and bad results follow then Wenger will be in serious trouble yes...

Re: Would Wenger survive..
You just don't replace nasri and cesc with a youth player ffs. Gervinho would help... But he's not the all around player nasri is.
If this goes down, who's going to carry the offense once van persie goes down again?
Too much talent to lose at once.
Arsenal needs to start acting like an elite club.. That perception is eroding fast.

gil is right there
i dont care about nasri going, if he stays then that would mean he isnt a money whore and everything is happy n etc,
i will be sad about clichy leaving because hes been a loyal player for us, but he can be replaced.
but if cesc goes, we are really screwed. we can afford to lose 20 nasris but not 1 cesc.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
Wenger can sign quality if he wanted to, though. In that emergency case everyone goes he doesn't have much of a choice in the matter, unless he wants to regin a mediocre club.
I agree Arsenal's reputation will be going down the loo if they let that happen. Which will end Wenger's Project, IMO.

Re: Would Wenger survive..
Thing is, young players wont be able to carry arsenal.
Ramsey is talented, but he isnt a top player, far from it. Gervinho has even less playmaking skills than Nasri.
it's going to be a painful transition
