Juve target Llorente bargain

Italian champions Juventus could pick up Athletic Bilbao striker Fernando Llorente in January for as little as €6m.

That is according to the Gazzetta dello Sport on Monday who are highlighting the club’s need for a new striker after the 3-1 reverse to Inter on Saturday.

The Old Lady targeted the 27-year-old in the summer, but the Spanish club’s asking price was deemed as excessive.

However, the Bianconeri could get their hands on him at the start of 2013 at a cut-price rate – of around €6-7m – given his contract situation.

The Spanish international is only tied to his current club until June 2013, which means Bilbao may cash in on him rather than lose him on a Bosman in the summer.

this is hard to believe, especially is it gets to a bidding war against Liverpool, Arsenal or other interested teams...

I am skeptical about this deal tbh..I am mentally preparing myself for another scrub in attack purchased by Marotta.

Is there a reason why Bilbao has not started Llorente this season? According to his statistics, he has not started a game in La Liga or Europa League this season. He has only been used as a substitute. Is Bilbao punishing him?

He was injured early on in the season but i am not aware of the situation now..Whats true though is that he doesnt have a very good working relationship with Bielsa.

As of last week, Llorente hadnt started a single game, but had managed 110 or minutes with one goal. So a goal every 110 minutes when being played inconsistently is very good. Hes being benched most of the time because of a falling out he had with Bielsa.

Punishment because he asked transfer

If we can't get Llorente for a good price in january then I think Marotta needs to make a 20-25m bid for Dzeko...He is world class!
