England vs Poland match postponed
Ok we have a stadium with a retractable roof but we leave it open when its raining. Who makes these retarded calls? If the polish FA us behind this I swear those people need to be shot. If you have a roof fraking use it!!
Sorry just pissed at my country.
What do you guys think?

Farcical scenes as England qualifier postponed
England's World Cup qualifier against Poland was postponed amid farcical scenes as the Warsaw stadium's retractable roof remained open during a heavy downpour.
Rain lashed down for three hours yet the pitch remained open to the elements - and the match, scheduled to kick off at 8pm UK time (9pm local), was called off at 8.55pm.
It has not yet been agreed when it will be replayed, with England keen to play it on Wednesday and Poland preferring a later date.
With the stands full of fans, England's travelling hordes cheered every time referee Gianluca Rocchi threw the ball into the air and watched it plop down on to the sodden turf during a pitch inspection at 8pm UK time.
A Polish media officer told ITV prior to that "the situation is changing all the time" - but it was difficult to see how, when the roof remained open as the heavy rain apparently prevented it from being closed.
With no ground staff in evidence, FIFA said that it would do everything in its power to get the game played despite the home fans leaving their seats in droves.
FA director of communications Adrian Bevington indicated that he did not expect the game to be played despite adding that "I have to be guided by the officials on this".
"Players' safety is what comes first," he told ITV. "You can't say that pitch is playable... we are available for tomorrow."
His view on matters was evidently sensible as a pitch that was relaid less than a week ago after a series of summer gigs - including Coldplay - and was cut up during Poland's friendly win over South Africa at the weekend barely soaked up the precipitation that continued to fall.
And following a further inspection at 8.45pm UK time, the news everyone expected filtered through: the game could not go ahead.

Yeh, the roof should have been used.
Apparently the game could be played tomorrow.

Hard to understand why they didn't close the roof when they had the chance and knew the weather forecast. No one's going to be happy about this, not the fans who went to the match, not the players who have to stay there for an extra day and not their clubs who will get those players back later than anticipated.

I can imagine how the people who are responsible for the roof react when it rains and the roof is down on their convertibles. Wait 45 minutes to inspect the interior and see if the rain lets up so you can use the A/C to dry it, then postpone any driving schedules until the next day, hope for the rain to stop and put the roof up

Re: England vs Poland match postponed
On the bright side, the roof is now closed, apparently.
Bit of a farce, really. The excuse was that heavy rain was forecast and not the downpour they got, but if there was any chance of heavy rain, you should use the roof that's there since the weather can turn badly quickly.
Then that spokeswoman went on about their heating system which would dry the pitch in 30 minutes, ignoring the fact that it was still raining and the roof was still open.
Shame we couldn't play tonight, but at least it's on tomorrow and not some time next month or something.

Ahaha yea. I was in Wroclaw in may with a couple of friends for a night n we asked the taxi driver to drop us off at an interesting place. Next thing we knew, we were at a strip club with pictures of Stalin n some other communist heroes hanging from the wall.white_star wrote:Schweini wrote:All the English fans who travelled will have fun in communist strip clubs tonight, and with Polish hookers

Re: England vs Poland match postponed
Hodgson takes Rooney off, attempts to park the bus....fails. England resort to hoofball
Ox should of came on for Milner Lescott and Jagielka are both terrible on the ball, did not utilize Carrick at all, couldn't pass a test let alone make a 10 foot pass to Carrick...this is when u see how Ferdinand is missed.
