Re: New S. Bernabeu
The adjoining buildings + traffic are going to have massive glare and sunglare-related heating issues. This is going to cost a lot more than anticipated... i call it now. In Los Angeles, the Walt Disney Concert Hall designed by Frank Gehry looks very similar in terms of exterior material. It was blinding drivers and the sunglare was melting glass in adjoining building They had to work the angles of the building so it would avoid drivers, existing buildings and any future buildings that could be built under the building codes... it cost a fortune.

It looks pretty good i think, although i dont know if it can change colors as the first model. Perez always wanted to rip off the Allianz arena, now he succeeded. the 360e screen inside the stadium looks pretty nice too

PL stadiums are ugly, unoriginal, boring and characterless. I think the only one that has ever stood out was the concept for New Anfield.

I think people must be genuinely blind if they think this rendering is bad.
Lets wait until its completely done in another 3 years ,i bet people would have certainly have different views, then.

Re: New S. Bernabeu
Real Madrid's new stadium will be designed in part by a season ticket holder at arch-rival FC Barcelona, it seems.
The Spanish football club's new Santiago Bernabeu stadium will be designed by a group led by a German firm, GMP Architekten, and includes Spanish architects Ribas & Ribas, ABC newspaper reports.
Josep Ribas, an architect at the Catalan firm, is a season ticket holder at FC Barcelona - a fact which proved a stumbling block for some of Real Madrid's directors according to news website The Local.
ABC says Real Madrid president Florentino Perez is determined to make the club's new 80,000 seat stadium the best in the world. It is due to be built by 2017 at a cost of £330m.

Re: New S. Bernabeu
Architecturally speaking, if Bernabeu is made in that fashion that it is an absolute masterpiece. I cannot imagine the vast gulf of funding that will be needed to complete an architectural design in that form, to which presents mammoth headaches for the architect and structural engineer both.
Such ambitious designs entertained will no doubt cause problems between both parties of engineers and the architects as I hope Real Madrid are being realistic in purporting such a structure.
Current structure format and strut plan of Bernabeu will be crucial as to the propensity of its execution.
Impressive.

Re: New S. Bernabeu
You can't really take much from prototype designs.
We won't know how great or bad it looks until its completed.
I doubt it will be anything but great though tbh.

Same firm built out this stadium for $450 million in 2009, which isn't nearly as complex. No way Flo can get it done for <$550 million.

lol exactly, it's way too shiny to actually look like this when it's finished
generally though i think it looks butt ugly with the roof closed, like a silver tent draped over a construction site that's waiting to be revealed in some grand opening... at least make some holes in the side
