For 10 millions €, probably to replace Gervinho.

PSG wanted him as well, but he choose Lille. Another player whot turn down PSG, I guess Qatar does not do everything.

A sellout, we have been pursuing him since January and he dumps us for lille... no biggie, we will turn it around.

Until Leonardo is actually in Paris and the manager issue is settled, PSG will have problems.

As far as Payet... with Nene on the left and Gameiro in the middle, where was he going to play? Right side would be fine i guess, but not his preference. Better situation at Lille for him frankly.

They got Pedretti. However he is not the same profile than Cabaye.

PSG wants Martin badly. I think they will outbid Lyon on this one. Martin also wants to go to a team on the upswing... would've happened already if Leonardo and coaching situation was resolved. That needs to happen ASAP before PSG lose him.

Arsenal may jump in as well on Martin with the departure of Cesc. Regardless of what Arsenal fans delusion themselves with... they don't have a true playmaker anywhere on their team and in their youth system that are the quality of Martin. He would fit in the Wenger system perfectly.

Martin would rather go to Lyon than PSG even if he is parisian. Words are that his father does not want him to go to Paris because of the things around the club.

Lyon is a better club than Paris, calmer and playing the CL.

PSG attractivity is WAY overrated. Alou Diarra turned them down for Marseille, Payet turned them down for Lille and without Blanc Gameiro would be playing in Valencia and not PSG.

Bernabia who is now working for Al Jazeera and the Qataris, said on RMC that PSG will look to bring big name players this summer.

I expect them to make a play for Kaka.

Ochoa is being mentioned.

Who's deluding themselves?

It's not a matter of who's better or more suitable. It's simply how the club works. When a key player goes, he's replaced by a younger player already at the club.

But disregarding this fact for a moment, you do realise that a player in our youth system obviously wouldn't be better than an older player and French international, right? That's expected. Our youth players are 15-17 years of age, while Martin is 23 or something like that.

Also, I wasn't aware that Martin, after one good season, is now the benchmark for all playmakers out there.

Anyway, I've gone off topic here.

The fact that Lille are signing an attacker may suggest Gervinho is on his way. I take that as a good sign that something has materialised on our end.

Or maybe Lille are buying him for depth. I really wouldn't know.

If Lille are buying a player 10 millions it's certainly not to bench him.

Excellent move by Lille. I like Payet's play from what I've seen of him.

Since PSG don't seem to have themselves completely together after their takeover (a la Roma), I expect their interest in Menez to cool quite a bit.

Excellent signing by Lille, it's good to see they are signing quality replacements for their departing players. Shows that hey are serious about the Champions League. Hopefully Udinese follows suit. So I guess this is good as a confirmation that Gervinho is going to Arsenal. Payet is a very good player, he will do well at Lille.
