Re: Who will visit Brazil 2014?
obviously everyone who lives in brazil will go.
my tips:1)get here on may and not in june
2)DONT use taxis and dont rent cars, not only will it be expensive but transit here is already chaotic without anything going on,imagine it at the WC.
3)Dont go to Rio if you are visiting only one place, only the final will be played there.Maybe do a trip or something
4)I wouldn't recommend you guys to stay at the North/Northeast areas,it's kind of boring (unless you want to watch specific games of course).Stay at Sao Paulo,Curitiba (my city),Porto Alegre etc, nice clubs/beaches/cool locations

Re: Who will visit Brazil 2014?
Yeah, May is definitely my planned arrival. But I have some backpacker friends who land at random countries throughout the world and get random oddjobs (waiter at any restaurant, etc.) just to support themselves for a month or two. From what you may have seen, is it common to see tourists who stay for a few months do something like that in Brazil?Ganso wrote:obviously everyone who lives in brazil will go.

Don't worry, I'm a likeable guy, I've got this all thought out. I'll bring BMF, it will be about time your parents met the bride anyway.

Re: Who will visit Brazil 2014?
I want to go but money will be a major problem. What's upsetting is the next 2 world cups don't appeal to me so it's not a case of waiting 4 years and then going with decent spending money but it's a case of waiting for a very large chunk of my life to go before I get to a world cup
That's 14 years minimum and there's no guarantee the world cup after that won't be stupidly hard to get to or a country I don't really want to go to.
What if I have children by then and I have no way of saving good money

sale of alcohol in qatar is legal only under strict restrictions... true or false?
revealing clothing for women is banned in qatar... true or false?
i couldn't give a shit what their skin colour or religion is, if a bunch of white atheists started a country and banned alcohol and titties i'd ridicule them just the same
You said that the sale of alcohol was completely prohibited in your original post, so stop twisting the facts to your benefit. Qatar (in their WC bid) said that they would allow alcohol in certain areas and that they would be more lenient during the WC.
And, define 'revealing clothing', if a woman wears a mini skirt and has her cleavage showing then that's fine, I live in the Middle East and I've seen it plenty of times when I'm downtown. Take what Larissa Riquelme was wearing back in the 2010 WC, that's fine, and even being a little more revealing would be fine also. But if you think women will be allowed to run around wearing only their underwear, then that's definitely too much and should not be allowed, that's common sense.
You're acting as if 90% of women actually wear extremely revealing clothing. I've been to the west and other countries before, and most women are actually dressed pretty respectfully. And from what I've seen what the majority of women wear is going to be allowed in Qatar 2022 from what I've understood.
No need to exaggerate.
Che can't afford to go to Qatar anyway.

Re: Who will visit Brazil 2014?
I'll go. I can afford it, and I've always wanted to visit Brazil, might be as good a time as any to go, if not better. I'll probably only visit like two actual matches though, far too expensive, better take the rest in at public viewing venues, and spend more money on food and a good hotel, I reckon. I'll probably make a proper vacation out of it and stay 8 weeks at least in the country. Always wanted to do that.
Plus my flatmate is half portuguese, I reckon she can teach me some basics in the next two years.

I went to the 2010 WC with a U.S. fan group called the American Outlaws and have already put down a deposit for their trip to brazil 2014. I'll be there as long as the USA qualifies for the WC

I'm not sure how much you are trying to spend, but if you can afford the trip in general getting tickets there for face value shouldn't be that much money. I got tickets in south africa for the Brazil Ivory coast game for pretty cheap also some guy gave me and a buddy free tickets to Argentina vs South Korea.

Re: Who will visit Brazil 2014?
For the first trip we had to book our own flight, but for the 2014 trip they will be booking the flights for us. For 2010 me and my friend flew from Atlanta to New York to Ghana and finally to Johannesburg. We originally had a direct flight from Atlanta to Johannesburg , but it got switched up a couple weeks before we left.

Hey y'all, as the summer draws closer and the final year towards the biggest footballing spectacle maybe ever begins to wind down I feel like I had to bump this for the newer people who might not have seen this but may also have plans to make it out there.
