The thing I personally love most about Arteta is his positioning. His anticipation of the game is so good that he knows where to be on the field all the time.
Against Liverpool he was pure defending, nothing else. Against Chelsea (5-3) last season he was more attacking. He is easily adaptable in any part of the central midfield.
Another thing is his tackling. Have you ever seen Arteta slide tackle? He never does that. He tackles standing, rather than sliding and most probably losing his man. Wilshere/Rosicky loves to slide tackle and sometimes it doesn't work. Arteta wins the ball, short pass and starts off attacking move. Always plays the simple game rather than the fancy dribbling game he used to play in Everton.
He will be our most important player this season.
