Manchester United striker Dimitar Berbatov flew to Italy on Wednesday to complete a move to Serie A club Fiorentina, a source close to the Bulgarian said.

I saw that news. It's interesting. Everything I read in Italian news translations said that the Jovetic move would happen at the last minute of the transfer window. I still hold a small sliver of hope that he will come to Juve and that I will get to see him play in a Juve jersey in Florence when I go see them play on my honeymoon.

No, that means even Fiorentina can sign a striker & we can't...

But I wonder if United would have even sold him to Juve since we are in CL. They may not want to improve our team.

No, Fiorentina's president after their Udinese game said he was 95% sure a striker would come in AND that Jovetic would stay

Jovetic plays his best while playing off of a striker, so obviously they're trying to embrace that

i agree. there's also an article over on myjuventus.net that suggests the juve may slip in and get berbatov... rumors, but an interesting one.

i would have liked berbatov here regardless of whether we had signed a 'top striker'. I really believe he could add 10 or so goals to the season tally.

If Berba does go to fiorentina to partner Jovetic I am going to be mad.

This means even a club who finished 13th in the league can put together a better strike force than us and buy strikers without too much fuss.

Really we should hijack this move and use our own financial muscle for a change.
