Why not? Forlan has played with infinitely less talented players than Del Piero, yet has been amazing for Atleti and Uruguay, and Villareal. He took Uruguay to the Semis of the world cup, and won the Copa with them. He also got the golden ball for the world cup. He also won the Europa with Atleti, and scored in the final. He has also been the pichichi twice while playing in such inferior teams. He didnt have the players that Italy has, nor the ones Juve did. Forlan is so underrated, its unbelievable. The guy is one of the most talented strikers at his prime.

These players are either recently retired or are at the twilight of their careers.
Edited out Villa as he isn't part of the last generation imo.
Crespo is there and Totti isn't?.. Well, it is your opinion anyways.

Del piero has much more class than him, and forlan was a flop at man utd at his prime time. And he didnt win the world cup like del piero. Roberto baggio said that the biggest scandal in football was not giving del piero ballon'dor. Gary neville: i never played with a player who dribbled me like that. Giggs: the best italian player is del piero. And knowing that del piero in his career won more titles than a lot of clubs, makes him much better than forlan, he was a flop these 2 years at madrid and inter where he lost chances when he had only the goal and a world class player cannot miss that. Del piero in his age makes these wonderful dribbles and classy finishes.
