Re: Nuri Sahin
You dont seem to get it, it had hardly to do with Mou
I don't think you get how much 'Mou' is obsessed with Arsene Wenger. Nothing against RM, but you'll find a lot of gooners detest Mourinho for his hatred of Wenger.
Personally, I think we are too big a club to be fighting Liverpool for your scraps for poxy loan deals.

I dont think it has anything to do with personal agenda. Sahin would be a great addition sure, but arent you guys lacking an DM, assuming Wilshere gets back on track?

They're practically giving you a great player for a season but you want more lol.
Lol charitable Real Madrid eh.. did they send him in a blue ribboned package for us?
Also quick question to clear up my confusion.. If liverpool are reportedly getting a 14mil buy-out? Why arent we?

Two things supposedly:
* We got greedy and decided why bother asking for a loan and sign him for 14 million outright. RM backed off then.
* Pool offered better terms for a loan with 5mil fee (we offered 2.8mil) and 100k p/w wages (we were at 80 k p/w).
Believe what you will

Re: Nuri Sahin
Interesting how reports differ, given that Liverpool-centric reports suggests we've offered to pay 80k or so as opposed to Arsenal's offered 65k and make no mention of the initial 5m loan fee.
Gotta love how papers play to their target audiences.

Yeah man! Things were so much easier on the mental sanity before this age of twitter and social media! All it has done is fuel egos and attention-whores. Rather pathetic.
To be honest, I would rather have none of this and just wake up one fine morning to read about a wrapped up deal on the website of the club. We could do without all this drama.
Arseblog wrote a brilliant read on this ITK bullshit yesterday.

I told these guys not to jinx it.. Sometimes, emotions get the better of blind beliefs - now which would be worse!

Re: Nuri Sahin
Sorry sri mate - I played my part too I must admit. I honestly thought this one would go ahead and I'm usually over-cynical about papers when it comes to transfers.
I read the arseblog article on it too, it's so damned hard not to get drawn into it on some level though isnt it! We should be focusing on Stoke *sunday though.. Tough game.

Well I agree with that. Sahin is a decent player by all accounts but he's not a DM. Ramsey isn't really up to the job imo and Frimpong isn't ready. Diaby is too injury prone and can't tackle. Similar goes for Arteta.
The best prospect for me is Coquelin. I brought this up to a fellow gooner who mentioned the 8-2 at Utd. Coquelin wasn't on the pitch for 5 of the goals. It all went wrong after he went off.
For me, he's better than Song at passing the ball and he can tackle pretty well.
If we can't (or don't want to) sign a big named DM in time I would give the young lad his chance.

Re: Nuri Sahin
As far as I'm concerned he is not coming this has drawn out too long and Wenger barely ever drags out transfers for this sort of period.
The way I see it is we want buyout clause for 15mil RM want him to replace Alonso in the next two season, we don't want to potentially give a player we don't own game time to improve yet have zero chance of retaining him which is fair enough.
Hopefully M'villa and Capoue rumours pick up pace and one of them comes in by next week.

Re: Nuri Sahin
Why would one take a 1 year loan of a player, pay a fee lol and have no buyback. It's retarded if Liverpool do it. You're basically helping the evolution of another club's player without any upside benefit past the one year...
Sahin will help Liverpool this year of course and they need it badly. But you can't really build anything around him.

Re: Nuri Sahin
Probably why Wenger pulled out. No point in spending 7m or so on a player who will go back all improved. If there was a buy clause, then sure why not but it's not worth it
Rather buy M'Vila or Capoue

Re: Nuri Sahin
Capoue is better than M'Vila at this point. M'Vila has been off form over a year now... he's only 22. But he has an attitude problem and is... well.... stupid. No other way to put it. When he talks, he sounds as intelligent as Podolski.

To get to CL Sports.
Heny has maintained that getting back into the top 4 is the priority and when it happens he will invest more.

I just hope we sign 2 more players, we really need to be more prepared this time around.
Capoue or M'vila would be a great start.
Best of luck to Sahin, he really wanted to join us and we can love him and wish him all the bets.

Re: Nuri Sahin
Forget Sahin. Like the other poster said, if Liverpool want to make daft offers that only benefits Madrid...we can't compete with that.
Why not give Coquelin a run in the side ( a few sub appearances first and see how he goes)?
I really rate the guy.

Re: Nuri Sahin
Coquelin is a gotdamn beast
Coquelin deserves starts not sub appearances. Most of us already know he's a beast, and he's been exposed to high pressure situations. he's already started against man u and tottenham away and performed well.
if he got games we'd be talking about him the way we do wilshere. I really think wenger is scared to play him because he's afraid he'll be the next prospect in line to get poached from the club.

Re: Nuri Sahin
Arsenal didn't want to pay more than half of Sahin's wages while Liverpool offered to pay most of it... that was the clincher.
Liverpool has an option to buy at £14 million according to reports in Spain.
