What has/had more potential?
What has/had more potential as a strike force?
Torres & Drogba or Rooney & Van Persie?

Torres/Drogba never worked and there was no way it was going to work.

But in all seriousness, Drogba and Torres clashed badly. RIP and Wooney can both set up and score goals

Re: What has/had more potential?
Nah, Torres & Drogba never worked not because they would get in each others way but because we never really tried it.
Mostly to do with the fact we haven't had proper wingers in the side for about 6 years now which is beyond pathetic.
Spent 150m in the past 24 months and we still don't have one.
EDIT: Oh and we never really tried them together anyway. Can only remember about 3/4 matches where they played together from the start. Pigeonholing one of them out wide isn't partnering them up either.

Re: What has/had more potential?
Torres & Drogba are just too much of a contrast. Their playing patterns are so different and I doubt it could be any more different.

Re: What has/had more potential?
Two strikers and two wingers will never get you very far in the Champions League or an International competition unless you're extremely lucky. And it's shit in tricky league games too. Always better to have an extra midfield player, or even an extra defender.
So... neither. Besides, Ferguson knows all this now, he's a bit more tactically astute than he was when he was younger. Don't expect van Persie and Rooney to start many games together.
Unless we convert to a midfield diamond.

Re: What has/had more potential?
Podolski and Klose actually were an amazing partnership up top when Poldi was played centrally for Germany years ago. But back on topic, i see them startijg together. Rooney and Van Persie are both too huge of names not to start. I see United playing something like:
--Nani-- --MF-- --MF-- --Kagawa--
--Rooney-- --RVP--
...with Valencia, Young, Welbeck, and Chicharito all as great backups. Also, with RVPs injury problems, i see Young or Valencia (fighting it out for that left wing) getting a lot of time, with Kagawa moving to the center and Fergie switching to a 4231.--Rooney-- --RVP--

Re: What has/had more potential?
Torres has never scored a goal for Chelsea while Drgoba has been on the pitch, and Drogba has only scored once while Torres was on the pitch.................AND IT WAS IN THE CL FINAL

Re: What has/had more potential?
Torres and Drogba didn't really work. Rooney and RVP will work better imo.

I like Henderson, I do... but there's no way he should be in that starting XI.
Firstly, he's not a right winger, and secondly we've had better players in the past.

RVP and Rooney have potential but I believe they will do a Torres/Drogba all over again.

Luis Garcia/Albert Riera over Henderson and that lineup could compete with Barca and Madrid, no problem.
