Gareth Bale - Too loyal for his own good?
They say there's no loyalty left in the modern game and with the likes of Modric demanding moves away as soon as there's even a sniff of a big club interested you can see why but Gareth Bale defied this view this summer by signing a contract extension at Spurs amidst specualtion of interest from Madrid and Barca no less.
Will he regret this??? Spurs could well not make the top four this season with the likes of Chelsea and Arsenal strengthening considerably and players only get so many chances to join one of the top clubs in the world.
Here's one view on the matter and a poll to see how people are swaying on the question !

I don't think loyalty has anything to do with it.
No sane club is going to pay 40 million or whatever for him. Spurs wont sell for what he is really worth otherwise Bale will gladly join Barca or whoever comes for him.

Spurs are on the verge of a revolution.
Bale knows this, and he's an integral part of this revolution. Spurs to win EPL by 2016.

The only team "interested" was Barcelona...which was a goal.com exclusive

Bale is playing for a top club that played cpl 2seasons ago and could have played again this season if Chelsea didn't win champions league.
For me, he just needs to be patient with Tottenham, the matter is not certain as to who would make cpl in EPL.
I honestly believe Tottenham have what it takes to make top 4 in EPL, top 4 is a race that Spurs are involved in and it's between City, Arsenal, United, Tottenham, Chelsea, my dark-horse are obviously Newcastle.
Next in line are Everton, Villa and maybe Liverpool, obviously battling it out for Europa league. Those who question why Bale is still at Tottenham must also question why Suarez, Lucas and Gerard are still in Liverpool

He signed a contract extension because he didn't exactly have a choice. I don't get why you would link an article that thinks Barca played in the CL final, is pretty ignorant about quite a lot of things, including why AVB "failed" at Chelsea and their end of season "dip". This is fail.com quality stuff >.>

Hes supposed to have a kid in the next month or so and wants to stay close to both his and his girlfriends family. I cant see him leaving spurs anytime soon and as others said i think its the best possible place for him right now

Re: Gareth Bale - Too loyal for his own good?
He should play as a SS behind Someone. If he excels there then there will be a lot of clubs in for him. Atm he is too much of an out n out LW. Arry nearly ruined him though lol

Re: Gareth Bale - Too loyal for his own good?
Yeah, I'd keep him in LW and someone more technical like VDV in SS spot.
But Bale is still young, he could easily stay at Spurs for a couple more years and then seek a move to a bigger club - not that Tottenham are exactly small.

No he isn't, if anything in recent weeks he's been outperformed by Lennon and Dembele and ask any Spurs fan and they will tell you their most important player is Dembele.
Great goal though.

Yeah, Dembele is the cog that makes our team run. Bale has been more consistent though lately, and don't get me started on Lennon. Dude had a great game against Manchester United, but he's hardly been top class all season long, and he's not even in the argument with Bale.
We have a lot to work on, but our problems aren't that bad compared to other clubs.

Him leaving would be a mistake. He isn't too good for spurs
Not that I really agree with the concept that any player is really too good for a certain club or anything but you get the idea.

Re: Gareth Bale - Too loyal for his own good?
Most important player in Spurs is most definitely Dempele.
And I disagree Moto, I think Lennon and Bale have been equally good this season. Sometimes they have great games sometimes they have bad. I think they have each been as good as each other this season, albeit neither consistently.
Lennon has outperformed Bale in recent weeks though.
Bale is still the most magical player on the team though and his skill sometimes is that x factor Spurs need. Take a look at the Spurs-Liverpool game earlier this season for example (despite his awful, but hilarious own goal).
