Re: Does post count mean anything to you?
I agree when the forum first started. Everyone was just posting like crazy to get back to Goal.com forum stats.
To me, it feels like users that have a 4 or 5 digit post count have a more valued opinion than new users who have very little. This was a couple weeks ago but someone in the Milan section (they had over 1000+ posts) wrote something and I was like "Yeah, good point" and then other users who had a lower post count, I just automatically thought "This guy doesn't know what day it is on this forum, he has no idea what he's talking about". Which is completely not true.
I'm now working towards becoming a better GL user for everyone.

Not a thing. In fact, I wouldn't care if we didn't show post counts at all.

Did mean a little when we posted on Goal Lithium, but I've come to realise that my post count is low simply because I enjoy reading the posts rather than posting. I like learning from the posters, here.

Nope, and never did. I'm with BC when I wouldn't mind it being removed one bit.
I think in the grand scheme of things, posters with a smaller post count don't get as much attention (unless they are well known members), but quality will shine through regardless of post count, so I don't think it's that big of a deal.

Post count is a vague indicator of how long someone posted in a forum

Everyone's catching up, I won't be top 10 anymore
Quality over quantity is something I've tried to improve over the time. I sure had my spammy moments.
I remember guys like Scciaca who took post count like dick size.

Re: Does post count mean anything to you?
I'm actually somewhat embarassed when I see my post count go over 1000 or so. After all, that means I spend way too much time in a forum. *blush*
