Essien's agent is trying to get an extension with Chelsea because his transfer and wage demands are too high... even Madrid wouldn't pay that fee. So he needs to really kiss up to the Chelsea brass.

As far as Lass, same thing as is happening with benz... he might was well keep his bridges intact while he hasn't been sold and in case the transfer never happens. My money is that he moves though.

He did admit that that Essien was talking to Mourinho, and it really looks like the kind of thing mourinho loves to do, get one of his old key man back with him, specially when there is hardly an equivalent on the market.

I can imagine a deal being made here with Kaka no?

Chelsea is not interested in Kaka at our price unfortunately. We would almost have to accept a straight swap for Essien... don't think Flo would accept that kind of black eye on one of his prize transfers.

Flo is a moron quite franky, if you can get essien + 10M or less for Kaka you take it.

It's more than the players Nick... it's the politics at Madrid.

i would do that deal in a heart beat. I pack kaka's bags myself and run them on my back to london if he wants.

I think Kaka is the hold up. Chelsea wants a longer contract with less money and Kaka will not give up any of his salary. He'd rather take as much as he can and then go back to Brazil with a few years left in him.

I only would go for him if we make a Kaka->Essien+cash exchange with seliing Lass afterwards. This way, the wage system will be restored and the balance in midfield constant.
