Re: Scholes vs Pirlo
I think Pirlo: More adventurous, much better defensively, proven at all levels. Scholes can only pass adequately with his right foot, Pirlo can do from both angles giving him crucial advantages. Also Pirlo is far superior with ball skills, he can shield and dribble a lot better.
Scholes's main problem is that he never impacted England as Pirlo done with Italy. He was faster then Pirlo but it doesn't really matter at all. He had a better goal threat but not much importance either for he didn't get enough goals to better Pirlo, the one thing scholes was though - was his consistency.

Re: Scholes vs Pirlo
There was some serious Seedorf-bashing in that other locked Scholes v Pirlo thread by some people.
I don't often rant on about people having lack of knowledge or not having seen certain games, but people who only saw Seedorf in the last couple of years of his career need a serious history lesson. He may be Slowdorf to you, but he'll always be the classy 4 times Champions League winning legend to me.

Re: Scholes vs Pirlo
Some of the EPL fans argue that Scholes' peak was during 2001-2005 which collided with United's fall in performance and that he never had good players around him in the national team. Consistency wise Scholes takes it,but based on sheer ability it is Pirlo.

Pirlo, without any doubt. Although I have respect fot scholes I don't see anything he's better at.
Pirlo is better at:
Tackling
Passing - all types
set peices.
And they both roughly have a goal to game ratio of 1:10 last time I checked.
