I am waiting for official lists from Uefa but till then let's try our own hand.

Goalkeeper - Iker Casillas / Gianluigi Buffon

Left Back - Philipp Lahm

Right Back - Tough to decide this one but I could go with Joao Perreira

Central Defenders - Mats Hummels, Pepe

Defensive Midfielder - Sami Khedira

Central Midfielder - Andrea Pirlo

Attacking Midfielders - Andres Iniesta, Mesut Ozil

Forwards - Cristiano Ronaldo

It's hard to choose a striker. Mario Gomez would have got the position had he not lost his place in the starting lineup. Hence we can go for a striker less formation. Smile So the eleventh player is the joker in the pack that is hard to decide. I would probably go for Joao Moutinho who I think has been the most underrated player at this tournament with David Silva being the closest competitor and who might make for a better formation but it's more important for me here to choose the best eleven.

So here is my selection.

Casillas
Perreira Hummels Pepe Lahm
Khedira Pirlo Moutinho
Iniesta Ozil C.Ronaldo

My team hasnt changed much since the group stages. Yes, alot of these players have been knocked out. But I would prefer to choose someone who did well in 3 games than someone who did average in 4.

So, as it is.

Really nice team but perhaps not Neuer. Casillas and Buffon may be more deserving.

dani, Karagounis is a surprise. I would have had Sellasie but for his crucial mistakes in the last game. Between Agger and Pepe, I think it's very close. Quite similar is the case between Coentrao and Lahm. Rest is quite unquestionable.

Its on purpose, lobsided, but him being there with no striker is better than any the strikers thus far to me.

I think Karagounis was excellent, real leadership and some battling performances in the midfield. Sellasie to me has done well, he was put in a bad position vs Portugal as tactics were to follow Cristiano all the way into the center. Something which to me was silly and forced him to make decisions he normally wouldnt. Besides, I cant think of a better rightback.

Pepe has done very well, but I seen him bailed out by Bruno Alves more than once. Bruno Alves to me has been at least as good.

I would however like to change my team.

One of Silva and Ozil out, Ibra in. Completely forget about the great mans performances.

Fair point about Karagounis. He made a few mistakes as well I think but given how little he had to work with he deserves credit. It would then be a close choice between him and Moutinho who also I think has been very good.

Excellent point about Selassie. He was actually handling C.Ronaldo reasonably well on the flank but like you said having to come to the center ruined everything.

Yes Bruno Alves has been one of the quietly steady performers.

I too thought of Ibra later. He's scored what is probably the goal of the tournament so far. Also he did play very well in an average team.

Its hard to make an 11, I would prefer to do it when the entire tournament is over and its easier to look back on all the performances totally.

As well as Karagounis played, he could end up dropping out. Same for Sellasie perhaps. I also think the goalie issue isnt sorted out yet, the big games will sway them the most for me.
