Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 3
Inter trio missing from squad
Julio Cesar, Dejan Stankovic and Diego Forlan have been omitted from the Inter squad which has been called up for pre-season training.
The outfit are trying to get rid of the trio and their exclusion from their Pinzolo training retreat, which starts today, has underlined that they are not in the club’s plans.
Cesar’s place in goal will be taken by Udinese’s Samir Handanovic, the club want to sell midfielder Stankovic and Forlan is in talks to have his contract cancelled.
...............................
Julio Cesar-Inter: It’s over
Julio Cesar is set to leave Serie A after he was not included in the squad for Inter’s pre-season training camp.
The Brazilian no longer features in the plans of the club and the outfit will soon officially complete the signing of Udinese ‘keeper Samir Handanovic.
Cesar has this week insisted that he wants to see out the two years of his contract at San Siro, but that now seems unlikely.
“We will go into the training camp with other goalkeepers,” Inter director general Marco Fassone stated.
“We understand Julio Cesar’s point of view, but in looking at the squad list you can see that we have made a very clear decision.
“We know how to look after these situations.”
Cesar could now be sold or, alternatively, have his contract rescinded. If the latter occurs, Inter may insert a clause which would stop him joining city rivals Milan.
The South American was netted by Inter in January 2005 from Flamengo. After an initial six-month loan spell at Chievo, he returned to the Meazza and eventually replaced Francesco Toldo as the No 1.
The almost 33-year-old could now move to England or possibly back to his homeland in Brazil.

Pescara admit to Verratti-PSG deal
Italian football is set to lose the talent of Marco Verratti after Pescara admitted that they had done a deal with Paris Saint-Germain.
The midfielder was being heavily linked with a move to Juventus and Napoli, but nobody would match the asking price for the 19-year-old.
Now, after talks with PSG, it seems that the well-financed capital outfit will land the Italian Under-21 international.
“PSG have always followed Marco and if the player agrees to the move then it will happen,” President Daniele Sebastiani told Radio Sportiva.
“There is already a total agreement between the two clubs.
“We would have wanted to keep him for another season, but if he accepts Paris SG then that won’t be possible. That’s why we would have preferred to do a deal with an Italian club.”
Juventus were heavily interested in the player and the boy has openly discussed his desire to join the Old Lady.
“A mountain was made out of a molehill in terms of the Juventus story,” Sebastiani noted. “And he never said that he only wanted to join Juve.”
The Corriere dello Sport is suggesting that Pescara will net €11m for the player, but that fee could rise by a further €3m if certain bonuses clauses are activated.
Verratti will be offered a five-year deal worth €1.5m a campaign. His wage could also rise depending on performances.

But Galliani said to Gazzetta dello Sport: "He (Julio Cesar) is a very good goalkeeper but we are not interested in him.
"We already have three goalkeepers and we are fine as we are.
"We recently signed Gabriel, a young Brazilian goalkeeper."

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 3
It had been widely reported that Van Persie, who turns 29 next month, had already agreed terms, in principle, on a £225k-a-week contract with City that would see him follow the path trodden by both Samir Nasri and Gael Clichy, who moved from Arsenal to the blue half of Manchester this time last year. However, the Premier League champions are unwilling to go above their basic ceiling of £198k-a-week, earned by the likes of Yaya Toure and Sergio Aguero, for a player with a history of serious knee and ankle injuries.
City’s refusal to make Van Persie their top earner outright, will test the Dutchman’s pronouncement that money was not the main factor behind his decision to quit Emirates Stadium, following seven years without a trophy.

If he was able to defend then Chelsea would not release him in the first place.McLewis wrote:Bosingwa .
He'd be a good signing if he was actually able to frakking defend.
Cicinho 2.0 basically.

Touche.
Still not my idea of a "strong" RB though. I'd rather us take a chance on one of our primavera players honestly if this is the best we can do right now.

Pretty hard to go for someone who wants to play in England and England alone and already made his mind up where he wants to go would'nt you think?
Also Barca

I hope that is not true. I very much prefer Villa over RVP at this stage.
Plus, i like Villa. RVP, not so much.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 3
Why on earth would Barca get rid of Villa for RVP unless Villa's injury hasn't healed or something of that nature?
Villa >>>>>>>>>>>>> RVP
RVP wouldn't do anything at Barca except get in Messi's way

Spain assistant coach Toni Grande
Edit :wrong thread.
"It is time for a Spanish player to win the Ballon d'Or, this is deserved," Grande told COM Radio. "I hope Xavi or Iker Casillas get it, because they have less time left to win it than Andres Iniesta.
"Sergio Ramos also deserves it, because he can mark a very big era in Spanish football."
Edit :wrong thread.

Exact why i Barca dont need forwards IMO or midfielders for that matter.
Defenders is where there attentions should be focused towards.

The defenders that are available right now are either overpriced/not for sale/not good enough...

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 3
Still can't believe we paid around £17m for Bosingwa.
I suppose it was all worth it in the end considering he's bossed Messi twice now and helped us win a CL but still. Jesus Christ.
Scolari and Arnesen

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 3
Well than you will probably have to overpay to get a top quality defender....
It's not like in recent years you haven't overpaid on midfielders or defenders..
While defenders might not be as flashy they are just as important.
Cant really rely on Pique coming back to form and Puyol keep producing every year especially at his age.

Re: Summer Transfer Rumour Thread Pt. 3
I dont see Madrid,Barca and City making too much transfer activity this season..
But they could make that one top signing though(Madrid-Modric,Van Persie-City) which is still less by Madrid/City's standards.
