Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
Shooting? Hes got the best shot on the team by a mile, one of the best in the entire world. Only Toni Kroos comes close. He also has a great first touch, great vision, great speed, and great ball control. Watch it at Koln wgere he was played basically in Ozils position, and youd see a whole xifferent player. Yes hes not that great out.on the wing because hes no a one trick pony who can only cross the ball in like putting a left footer on the left wing implies. Thats why i say put Reus on the left and Poldi on the right, this way they could bith cut in onto their favored foot. Either way, hes way too good for the bench, without a doubt better than Reus, Schurrle and Muller and even slightly better than Gotze plus more of a goal threat. Still think hes one of the best german starters, only after Ozil, Schweini, Neuer, and Lahm. Onthe same level as Klose. Muller was good in the world cup but since then hasnt been that great. Hunmels and Kbedida have been excellent throughiut this euro but otherwise are pretty average. For this Euro, id say Poldis been around the middle of the park. Had one man of the match performance, but two dqecent games where alot of the team where better than him. So lets just agree to disagree, yea.

Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
Podoskii can certainly do better than how he is performing but come on, how can he be one of Ger best players?
He's been crap, Schurrle's been better in the greek match and as the cameo when he come on as sub.
Mueller offers, more team work, aerial threat and he reads the game much better then podolski.
Reus Oezil and Mueller are the best 3 attacking options, Schurrle should come from bench. Podolski should go home or re-evaluate his performances, it's nonsense to say he's been one of the best though, not a podolski hater either

Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
TBH we can't actually know what Podolski can do these days. He's only played for Germany in a uber defensive role at this tournament, and Köln just don't compare to Germany.
Once Podolski starts, and gets the OK from Löw to really press forward, we'll know more. If he still isn't a great threat then, yes, maybe he's lost it a bit. But he's been very constricted by tactics this tournament so far. Just like Müller btw.

Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
Muller hasnt done anything noteworthy and neither has Schurrle. Both have been shit this Euro. Schurrle had chance after chance but ruined all of them because of his own selfishness. Muller has worked hard defensively, but Podolski has worked harder, including marking Robben out.of the game with Lahm. Its true and a good point that Podolski hasnt really been.given the OK to fully concentrate on attacking, and when he does get that ok hell do even better. But hes already been doing better than Muller and Schurroe, as well as about half of the rest of the team as well, including a man of the match performance against Denmark. Muller has poacher instincts, how he knows where to be at just the right time, but Podolski overall reads the game far better than Muller.
Our front 4 should be: Reus - Ozil - Podolski, with Gomez mainly starting but still giving Klose plenty of time as a rotation player, and Podolski and Reus constantly swapping wings. That would be the best possible frontline for Germany.

Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
Mate the difference between Mueller doing well or not is just bad luck, bad crosses, narrow misses, and out of form compared to the 2010 wc.
He has still been better then Podolski, I especially like his aerial threat.
I feel Mueller & Oezil would link up better with Klose, because of the movement.
Schurrle made more impact even with his shit vs greece, I honestly dont know what you've seen in podolski at this tournament but I disagree especially about reading the game better then Mueller

Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
Schurrle made no impact. He ran at a few defenders and.shoot over the bar a few times. Thats all he did. He was lazy defensively, and didnt do.shit offensively except waste chance after chance. Plus he was playing against GREECE.
Mullers bad form is because of luck? Im sorry, but thats a ridiculous excuse. Hes an excellent player and is off form, but thats his own fault, luck has nothing ti do with it.
Podolski on the other hand had a man of the.match performance against Denmark, a pretty good.performance againzt Portugal, ans against Netherlands he aas told to help Lahm mark Robben out of the game, and he did that well as well. He hasnt been at his best as hss been asked to defend alot and hes much better through the csnter, but hes still been far better than Schurrle and Muller.
And yea, Muller is more of an aerial threat than Podolski, but thats all he has on him. Podolski is faster, bdtter dribbler, better shot, etc. Also, Muller seems like he has better link up play but its actually because of how much Muller drifts inside, whereas Podolski stays out wide more. Look at older games where Germany used to play with.Poldi and Klose ip top, and youll see that their linn ip play together was amazing. And im sure it still is if Poldi drifted towards the center more. This Euro for sxample, Muller hasnt really ljnked up with anybody as es stayed out wide and hut crosses in, while Poldi has been ljnking up with Ozil very well. Podli couldnt linm up with Klose cuz they havent been on the pitch at the same time so far this Euro.

me neither, i have no idea how you can watch the first three games and think that poldi was germanys most dangerous player on the pitch lol
And for the record: Schürrle didnt have the best performance either, but he sure as hell was a lot more dangerous than podolski...
also a big lol @ "Podolski has great ball control"

You misunderstood me, if his crosses connected or his narrow misses hit the target then all of a sudden Mueller is doing well, that is the bit of bad luck for him.
Oh and coming off a golden boot award from 2010, is also bad luck for him because people expect a hell of a lot.
When we play England in the semi's, what logic is it that you want to play a defensive confused winger vs none other then Milner? Arguably the 2 worst wide men in the tournament.
It's much better for Reus to exploit that side while giving Mueller the aerial advantage over Cole.
If we fight donkeys with donkeys england will progress

Re: Quarter final: Germany vs Greece discussion
England didnt progress against Italy.
It has nothing to do with luck that he didnt connect with his crosses or that his finishing was off. Nothing to di with luck, so thats not an excuse. And im a vig fan of Muller, but hes been a disappointment.
Ans i never said Poldi was our most dangerous player. He won a man of the match performance against Denmark but was only so-so against Portugal and against Netherlands he was all about defense. But Schurrle didnt do anything. He ran at hus refenders three or four times and skied the ball over the ball pretty mucb every time. Podolski linked up with Ozil all game against Denmark and Portugal and was much more dangerous that Schurrle, Muller, and even Reus. Hes also a better player than them in my.opinion. But he clearly wasnt rhe most dangerius olayer, overall that easily goes to Ozil. Gomez would be ahead of him too for sure. But Poldi was still better than Muller and Schurrle for sure and in my opinion slightly better than Reus too. You should also remember that Poldi played against Netherlands, Portugal, and Denmark. Reus played against Greece. Big difference there.
