Özil was polite and remembered he'd have to play together with Pepe again at Real after the Euro Very Happy

He still wasn't wrong though rwo Very Happy

I don't think Germany can win with Gomez as their starting striker. He is a good one but he is too static and it was clear that both Özil and Muller suffered from it, although Özil still managed to have a good game.

It has to be Klose if you want to win trophys. He is the link between the choking Germany-era and the ballsy Germany-era.

Well, obviously the advantage of the German NT is that we have Klose, Schürrle, Götze, and Reus still on the bench and thus can still vary the line-up. A team like Portugal is less fortunate as they already put their biggest gun onto the pitch with CRonaldo today.

He is so useless for Portugal it's not even funny anymore, just sad. Ronaldo to be the flop of Euro 2012.

I hope so, Ronaldo to do nothing at Euros, Messi to win Ballon D'or by a landslide again Twisted Evil

And has Hummels been first choice b4 this? I thought Mertasacker was first choice? OBviously Hummels and Badstuber looked very good together for most parts...

Podolski had a good game. His shooting was unusually off, but other than that he played prefty good. Hes still a sure starter on the team in my opinion and in my.opinion Schurrle doesnt have a chance of taking that from him. Also, he hut the wall with his free kick because he was aiming to go through the hole in the wall created by his teammate, who was in the wall and supposed to get out of the way, but his teammate never got out of the way. Certainly not at his best today, but still played good.

Mertesacker shouldnt start. I thought Hummels and Badstuber had a good game besides a few scary moments, but thats expected in one of their first games togsther. They still didnt cause any goals with thise little mistakes, so they did well. Theyll just get better with time. Boateng had a bit of a rough time, but was still decent. He also went up against Ro.aldo all game, so that considered, he did pretty well. One time Ronaldo juked him so bad he almost fell down though lol. But otherwise he did well. Mertesacker also shouldnt start because he hasnt played in many months for Arsenal. Cant rely on someone whose been injurdd for 6 months.

Decent game though. Germany were certainly not at their best though still, but still got a hard fought win. Still a bit off form it seems. It was an obgiius improvement over the France and Swiss games, but still not at their best. I expect them to pick it up in the next games though.

You guys are clueless. He made one good block on Ronaldo and that is it. Ronaldo had Boateng on the back foot every time he got the ball.

Ronaldo totally owed Boateng, it's a shame the team didn't seem to play him more often he had a great game and chose not to do everything on his own, on another day he could easily have had 2 or more assists, Portugal played a great game and created the most chances, Pepe had the best chance of the night but was denied by the woodwork.

Boateng was one of the reasons why Germany was so poor on the night, he offered no attacking presence whatsoever and was largely restricted to defensive duties, Muller had no support on the right wing.

Nani and Valera had clearer chances than any German player but found a way to bottle it. This German team is surely not as good as many want us to believe, I can see the Netherlands beating them quite comfortably.

Portgual played well enough to get a draw, but if you don't turn your good game into goals you don't deserve a draw nor win.

That. I really hate this "X deserved to win" argument. You know, Bayern also "deserved to win the CL" if you argue like that. But in the end the team that scores more, wins. Full-stop. ^^

Seems many people in these forums cannot fully understand the meaning of the word , deserve.

You forget the point that Boateng covered CR7 on his own. Any other team would double him. Of course, he looked more suspect but he didn't let him pass through which is an achievement.

I dont use that 'deserved' word very often but yea deserved is not the best word to use in this situation. Portugal hit the post twice and imo were the better team over all. They played good enough to get a draw or even win the match.

When even CR had one on one with Boeteng,he roasted him and reached the box comfortably but the service Ronaldo recieved was very very low and the player who he had to link up was Postiga lol. Ronlado was defensively poor though.

Admittedly, CRonaldo reached the box, but rarely in a position to actually make something count. I mainly remember one great CRonaldo shot, but that was saved by Neuer.

Podolski and Muller were Useless.Gomez was not involved but cant blame him because its not his role to create.

Guys who played well were Shweinin-Khedira and Ozil. Wide players were bad which resulted in Coentrao having a excellent game.

Pereira was awful positionaly and looked nervous whole game yet Podolski rarely did anything not worthy.
