Going to be interesting whether Höwedes or Bender start at RB, I really don't think Schmelzer stands a chance as of now, then again, who knows. But he really has been crap in all his Germany matches, while the Benders are always boss, no matter which one.

I'm also quite anxious before the game, it's a weird situation, we're the only team as of now to have won both their games, yet we could still go out if we screw up, and we wouldn't even have to screw up that badly...

Either way we'll be playing for a win, if only for the confidence boost it'd give Germany.

Who knows, maybe Löw will opt for a 3 defender setup with Badstuber, Hummels & Lahm? Admittedly, against the Ukraine the experiment didn't work out, but there he only put them onto the positions cold, IIRC. I think it might be a shot against the Danes who will be pretty defensive, if they play similarly against us as against the Dutch.

Who normally replaces Boateng at RB ? Has Schemlzer's form really been that terrible ? I'm in need of a defender to replace Boateng and cover a German CS in my fantasy, so who would be the best/safest bet ? Goddamn bender isn't even listed as a defender, so I hope it's Howedes

Höwedes is Boateng's backup. Schmelzer is a LB and wont probably play at all if everyone fit.

Fair enough. I figured Schmelzer might be a possibility since Lahm can be shifted to RB. Guess its down to either Howedes or Bender then..

Putting Schmelzer into the line-up would be comedy. Laughing

-Neuer-
-Hoewedes-Hummels-Goodstuber-Lahm

Bender-Scweinsteiger
Schuerrle-Reus/Kroos-Guendogen
Klose

I would watch the match only if this line-up is fielded

Nontheless, alemania will have to face Agger (best CB in the match-up) and Nicklas the destroy Bendtner

Denmark will have to try and score but I've a feeling it will be Germany who shall come out with a couple of goals and three points.

Wow. A Spanish ref. Germany only need a draw, if they lose they are still through so I don't mind who they play.

i predict two penalties/claims of penalties that the referee failed to see

Also predict about 7 yellows altogether and possibly one red

"It's true, that I can still play better," the Real Madrid midfielder was quoted as saying by Zeit Online.

"Because I know what is inside me. I still have not shown everything. Although I hit the post against Netherlands, I've had bad luck, but yes I will improve myself.

"I am also proud of the team. Others, such as England, Italy, Spain and Netherlands do not have six points from two games. We have defeated two top nations.

"Nevertheless, we need a point to be safe in the quarter-finals. So I will not now stand up and cheer. Against Denmark, we have to get everything and be very careful.

"If we fulfill our potential, I [will not] be worried at all. Then, we can defeat the Danes.

"The level we've reached was our aim, our goal. Each opponent wants to defeat us now. It's like Real Madrid. Since each smaller team also wants to beat us, and gets everything out of themselves [to achieve it].

"Germany are like Real Madrid. I like that."

Ozil and his team-mates will lock horns with Morten Olsen's men in their final Group B game. Kick-off on Sunday at Arena Lviv is at 20:45CET.

Here, a nice Löw interview eco smile He also talks about the ballboy incident.

The essence for this game. He'll start his strongest lineup.

Qualification scenario :

Germany (v Denmark)

Win - Secures qualification and top spot.

Draw - Secures qualification and top spot.

Lose - Through with a 3-2 defeat, or a higher-scoring one-goal loss. Otherwise, out if Portugal beat Netherlands, but through if the Portuguese do not claim three points.

Denmark (v Germany)

Win - Secures qualification.

Draw - Will only be enough if Netherlands beat Portugal.

Lose - Out.
