Re: Former Player: Xherdan Shaqiri
In between sausages, lassagna, RWO having a GF, Babun's sig, Viva's Podolski love and that funny language where you capitalize all nouns...
Best thread eva
Are sausage and beer the more iconic items of German cuisine? Because I mostly hear of those two.

That amused me a lot, too XDSushi Master wrote:RWO having a GF
Naw. It is regional. I for one think that Sauerbraten or Rouladen would be more iconic. Or the Swabians have their "Maultaschen" etc.Sushi Master wrote:Are sausage and beer the more iconic items of German cuisine? Because I mostly hear of those two.
Every region has their iconic food and other stuff, but for some reasons most foreigners seem to think that the Bavarian traditional stuff is typical for Germany. For example - you'd never find a sane person outside of Bavaria who would want to be caught wearing Dirndl and Lederhosen XD
And Weißwürste normally are not found anywhere north of the "Weißwurstäquator".

Re: Former Player: Xherdan Shaqiri
I don't know, that shit is disgusting. The consistency alone, it's like eating giant maggots. Bavarians are freaks of nature.
Anyway - to Sushi Master's questions: there's even large regions of Germany where they drink more wine than beer (!!!) - it's shocking, really.
Where my family is from, they'd drink apple wine and eat "Grüne Soß", or "Handkääs mit Musigg", though I couldn't really tell you why anyone would eat that, either. We're a weird nation.

"Handkäs mit Musik" is vile! BTW, I prefer wine to beer, too, even though I'm from a beer region.

Well, you're a girl :p
/stereotype
I'm from a wine region and prefer beer, so we cancel each other out.

Re: Former Player: Xherdan Shaqiri
As I recently watched a lot of the FC Basel matches in the Swiss Super League, I have to say I was pretty impressed with his ability. In the last match on Sunday he had an action where he easily outdribbled three of Lausanne's players and only was stopped at the very end when there were even two more players coming in to stop him
BTW, Xherdan Shaqiri won the "Prix Diaspora" this year, which is a yearly award that is given to a person who has done great service to the Republic Kosovo. Shaquiri was honoured as an ambassador or integration and an example for building bridges between the cultures.

BTW, Shaqiri joins the Bayern as Swiss Champion (um, they get their real trophy only after the final match, but no one can overtake FC Basel anymore since Sunday, so they already celebrated a bit with that makeshift cup that some fans brought into the stadium XD) and he might still win the Swiss Cup with Basel on May 16th, too:

Umm, *blush*, yeah... I admit, that's the reason
BTW, tomorrow at 19:45 GMT+2, Basel will have a league match against FC Thun. Firstrow usually has the stream.
