Heynckes on SKY: "I think we prepared well for this game" - Honor and Grace worthy of his future position as manager of Inter Milan

Re: Former Head Coach: Jupp Heynckes
Arquitecto wrote:Jupp is most definitely a quality manager. One of my favourite German managers and the reason why I watch Bayern as a whole.
He has built a fantastic Bayern side and far better then the one that fraud Van Gaal did. Its fantastic to watch not aesthetically but since the team is tactically so infused with discipline and consistent adaptation to the variances of their system and the oppositions. This team is head and shoulders above everyone in the BL and deserve it.
He won the Champions League after 32 years for Madrid, but Madrid being Madrid, sacked him obviously since their management is clueless as usual.
I obviously remember (retrospect) him for his Athletic Club stint the most as from the countless highlights I saw, Atheltic played a fantastic football under him through his harnessing of Euskadi futbol and its philosophy as a whole which the fans absolutely adored while having them qualify for the UEFA cup. Fans also had a nickname for him similar to the German "Osram", they called him Bonbilla after how his face turned orange at the strangest of times.
His 2nd tenure sadly wasn't as successful but it was forgiveable due to the internal problems of Athletic at the time yet he still carried Athletic with the original Basque roots and did the club proud.
Hopefully he doesn't retire, would love to follow him wherever he goes.
Arg I see you mentioned VG as fraud? Actually how do u mean? Im still learning so hopefully u can elaborate. What exactly did VG start at Bayern and weaknesses, while Jupp took over and improved?

I had a powerpoint presentation to show the different ways Barcelona work and move. My team was very tactically disciplined - Jupp Heynckes to Phil McNulty, Chief football writer at the Allianz Arena

Think he'd be a good fit at Arsenal.

Happy for Jupp. He's done a great job at Bayern no matter what happens.

I'd love him to coach the German NT, after they sack Jogi...

Van Baal really made Bayern a top team again. But Heynckes is the one that has made this giant choo choo train of a team that demolishes anything in its path.

Heynckes appreciation thread
Self explanatory.
Bayern are pretty start studded but this guy made it really click. This season has been amazing, and it's down to his great achievements.
Plus, he's frakking 68 and looks great. GOAT manager.

People are forgetting how much he has done to keep the lockerroom egos in check. Just look how Ribery and Robben are tracking back now instead of being their usual lazy asses.
Incredible job, wish Flo saw that aswell and hired him instead of Ancelotti

Re: Former Head Coach: Jupp Heynckes
His work with this Bayern is admirable , his trophy cabinet the same . He has handled this Bayern perfectly and with ridiculous depth within their ranks. Might be great for the team , but it can be a small nightmare for a coach ,having so very many good options to choose from , not an easy task to keep them all satisfied and win cups. Going out a real champion , sweet.
When Bayern gave him his last big contract , who would have thought ? Just amazing stuff this season ; best Bayern i ever saw .

He has done an amazing job in Bayern. It's great to watch this Bayern play.
Life has been a bit unfair with him though. Wins the CL with Real... gets sacked. Now wins the CL with Bayern... sacked again Fourth coach ever to win two CL with different clubs though

Re: Former Head Coach: Jupp Heynckes
Good manager but it all started with van Gaal, he pretty much laid the groundwork. Taught them how to dominate games and turned them into a. Possession team.
I will give him credit for improving that defense though. The entire team is organized and each player works as hard as hard as one another. Got Robbery tracking back and everything.
Dropping Gomez for Mandzukic was also a ballsy move. And it paid off in the end.

They are not even a possession team, this is nothing like Van Gaal's team.
