Considering the CL Semi, who is better - Neuer or Casillas?

Did you guys notice how after the champions league semis / penalty shots that even the most diehard Real Madrid Fans stopped claiming that Iker is the best goalkeeper in the world (let alone best goalkepper ever lol)?

FYI, Crimson and Adit STILL say Casillas is the best in the world and a pen shoot-out where he saved 2 pens ain't gonna change that.

Lahm and Kroos pens were terrible, I wouldn't give Casillas credit for that.

The thread title says "German GK Appreciation Thread". Please leave out comparisons to Casillas here, who, by the way, did save two penalties in the shootout, too, which certainly was quite a feat, in such an important match. And saying they were badly shot is not really relevant as Casillas just stood where he had to stand - he could have already jumped, too and the shots could have been in. That shootout was in the end lost by Ramos, albeit one can argue Ramos lost his nerves after he saw Neuer save the pretty good shots by both CRonaldo and Kaka, so we are back with Neuer now.

Neuer was the Hero of that Match, when you compare him with the other Goalkeeper who played that night.

Heh. I'm the last person who wouldn't appreciate what Neuer did in the CL Semi. I hope he'll even up his performance for the final against Chelsea.

But to be honest Hunstmans, Casillas is an exemptionally good goalkeeper, have you seen his record, he has won almost everything that is there to win.

Why don't youy like him.?

I only prefer Buffon(because he was my childhood favourite beside Kahn and Neuer(because he plays for Bayern and he's worldclass.)

Saying Neuer or Boffun are better then Casillas is one thing.

Well, as comparisons usually get pretty agitated fast and the other thread is supposed to stay in the General Section, I prefer to move the controversial stuff here where it belongs. ^^

Casillas was more influential over the 210 minutes before the penalty shootout.

casillas had a lot more saves to make than neuer.. for me its pretty even, and in this case a bit of personal bias will come into play and make me choose iker
