Which player has had the most important misses?
After a few hrs. of youtube football vids tonight and quite a bit of alcohol earlier (just to revisit old football moments), it got me wondering: Which player has had the most important misses at goal which were extremely important and could have very well been converted? My vote has to go to Mr. Arjen Robben. In temrs of numbers, I saw three, the first a PK miss vs. Liverpool in the 2007 CL semi, the second his 1V1 vs. Casillas in the WC final and the third vs. Dortmund last weekend, which might have cost FCB the Bundesliga. As far as terms of scenarios, I refer to any spot kick which was extremely close/blocked well, any 1 V 1, an impossibly good block or even a sitter. Which player can you recall missing the greatest number of very important goals that could have easily been put in, but for whatever reason were not?
PS: this was not meant to troll Robben or FCB, its just a for the F of it post.

Well, after Wednesday, I would have gone for Robben, too

Robinho.. he could have probably sent milan through to the semis even if barca got favoured by the refs but instead decided to balloon it.. and also last season as well.. and + uncountable occasions

Kroos could've sunk Spain.
Klose could've sunk Italy.
But they were one-off, Robben seems to make a habit out of it. :vagi:
I'm pretty sure there are worse cases though, Robben really isn't a big-game flop by any distance, even though he screwed up a couple times. I want one of our walking encyclopaedias to pull out a real choke artist.

Robinho . I think of him as the Messi of misses
There's simply no match for him in any top league right now.
