Theo Walcott Out For 6 Months, Misses Rest Of Season, Misses World Cup
After coming off injured in Saturday's 2-0 win against Tottenham Hotspur, the Club regrettably announces that Theo Walcott has sustained a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament of his left knee.
Theo will have surgery in London in the near future and is expected to be out for at least six months, therefore missing the remainder of the season and the World Cup in Brazil in the summer.
Everyone at Arsenal wishes Theo a speedy recovery and we look forward to seeing him back on a football pitch as soon as possible.

We survived without him and we will do it again. No need to worry. We already have replacement.

Ugh.. This is just awful..
Even if we manage to somehow overcome this and win something.. lts going to suck that theo won't be a part of it...
l really hope Wenger and board don't see ox just being able to come in and replace him. Ox isn't even half the player Theo is yet.. We can't rely on him to give us what theo does.

Need Gnabry and Poldi to really buckle down now because our wide attack was utter SHAT when Poldi, Ox and Walcott were all out

There's still a chance he will be able to play the World Cup. His expected return date is in June.

Try and get Di Maria maybe? He doesn't really offer what Walcott does, but because he's a top player and Arsenal need a RW, it might be tempting.

Here we are . It has to happen
Losing a player like Theo is a massive blow , no matter how you looks at it. I fear that we won't buy anyone and keep about the same squad. Consequently it going to hurt us .
Hopefully this season won't be like 2007-2008 : finishing 3rd , only 4points behind Man U and we went 1 month without winning ( 4 draws, 1 lost ) .

Gutted for him, but this is a bigger blow for England than Arsenal.

Disagree..... he's never really performed for England because there is less space for him to operate in and we don't have the players Arsenal do to use him properly....
On the other hand he's the only one Arsenal has who adds width, pace, movement and finishing..... he stretches teams and gives the midfield more space..... they can't really get in behind teams without him and the whole play comes condensed.
Its a massive blow for Arsenal, he's the best goalscorer and the only one with genuine pace and movement.

Big blow for him, feel bad for the dude.
Arsenal dont need to think twice now, if they werent sure before, they need to be sure now, another goalscorer is a must. Dont underestimate the goals Walcott gave to the team.

This is horrible news for England, Absolutely gutted for him, Gem of a player. Hope by some miracle he can still play in the WC.

No chance for WC. ACL injuries take 6 months just to heal minimum... after that, it's rehab. Most times, you take 12 months or more just to get back to full speed.
As far as full speed... this is a huge issue. ACL full tears take your speed down. You'll never be as fast or as explosive. Just the way it is.

Yeah when Shearer had a similar injury he had to change his game completely.... and tbf was never as good again( actually he had 135 goals in 169 games before the injury) obviously not the same but Theo is going to have to adapt.

My best friend from childhood is a well known orthopedic surgeon in LA and he's given me insight on my injuries and injuries to players of my favorite teams over the years... so i've picked up a lot of info.the xcx wrote:You're a doctor Sports?
ACL tear is a pretty common injury in the US with NBA and NFL players... so i've seen a lot of recoveries. It takes time and you're never really the same.

Disagree..... Arsenal have better depth than England. Arsenal have more players than England to look for goals and decisive moments. Sure enough they may not be completely like-for-like, but Walcott's injury leaves England shorter on match-winners than Arsenal.

Walcott is 5 in 36 for England.... 3 of them came in one game.... so you take that aside its 2 in 35.
Walcott isn't 5% the player for England that he's for Arsenal....
And for all this so called depth they supposedly have they have no one like Walcott.

Lol we have depth ?
Maybe midfield, specifically creative ams who look more to create than score.. But that's it. Our attack and defense is about as thin as it gets

I doubt Theo Walcott can hear them from that far down in the table.

Indeed. Smashed out of another cup by their rivals, hovering in mid table mediocrity, team has been wiped out due to injuries and their manager is a Gooner
I bet their sides are simply splitting with all that unbridled laughter

Spurs fans are human beings too. They receive too much unnecessary hate sometimes.
