Indian Footballer Collapses And Dies

The first class pitchside treatment received by Fabrice Muamba was thrown into sharp relief today by the death of a footballer who collapsed while playing in India.
28 year-old Bangalore Mars player Venkatesh collapsed during the warm up ahead of his side's game against SW Railway.
Whereas Fabrice Muamba was immediately treated by club doctors and paramedics at White Hart Lane, Bangalore Football Stadium didn't even have an ambulance on crew on hand.
Instead Venkatesh's team mates had to hire an auto rickshaw to take him to the nearest hospital.
He was pronounced dead on arrival

Reading the parts in red, i literally shook my head in disbelief. Then again, it's a grim reminder not all clubs can afford luxuries such as on-site ambulances and proper medical equipment

This is ridiculous. With the heat they have in those places the fact that they didn't have an ambulance on crew on hand is unacceptable, it could have easily happened to a fan as well. This was preventable.

it's a third division club so no way could they afford ambulances or even doctors.
and playing the high heat is common in sub continent, alot of people die of injures

the grassroots football standard really sucks , the fact that they even had one 'physiotherapist' amazes me ,thats how bad it is

Its really not fair I mean those ppl like Muamba and this guy and all the rest are there working for money and entertainment ffs and they are so young and they get this in return ?
Does any1 remember Miklos feher ? I literally can't forget that it always brings tears to my eyes this ain't fair I believe in god I love god but this ain't fair

well bangalore mars is actually the team so they arent all dead yet^^ :p

Yes, I remember Fehér. I was in Hungary at the time and it was shocking.. very sad. He had a smile on his face right before it happened too.
Anyways, RIP to Venkatesh. Devi, Bangalore Mars was the club, not the player. Very sad that they didn't have the proper personnel on-site. Condolences with his family.

his family rejected rupees one crore( 10 million ) from the govt, saying there is no need for it now.. quite the right attitude i guess..
what can you expect from politicians anyway, the woman and child minister from that state was caught watching porn when parliament was in session for gods sake ..
