Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Robbie, Poyet, Zola. Lots of ex-Chelsea being linked. Nice to see Sunderland going for the best

Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Roberto Di Matteo and Gus Poyet are believed to have serious reservations about succeeding Paolo Di Canio at Sunderland:
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/23/roberto-di-matteo-gus-poyet-sunderland
Not surprising. They've gone through almost as many managers in the last several years as we have.
http://www.theguardian.com/football/2013/sep/23/roberto-di-matteo-gus-poyet-sunderland
Sources in Italy suggested Roberto Di Matteo, the early bookmakers' favourite, is reluctant to take on such a high-risk opening. Still being compensated by his former employers at Stamford Bridge, the ex-Chelsea manager is understood to be reluctant to accept another position unless it offers an outstanding opportunity.

Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Di Matteo gets second chance in Swiss drama:
Former Chelsea manager Roberto Di Matteo is back in the running for the Switzerland manager's job after the country's preferred candidate pulled out at the last minute
http://www.sportsdirectnews.com/international-football/34966-di-matteo-gets-second-chance-in-swiss-drama.php
·
Also being loosely linked to the Watford (whose director's box he purportedly was sat in for today's game...) and AC Milan jobs.
I'd say fat chance for all 3.

MK Dons
West Brom
Chelsea
Four year managerial career, a bit ridiculous of Switzerland hire him. Watford would make much more sense.

Stock's too high right now for Watford. He'll be looking for at least mid-PL. Fulham link just won't die down.

I don't think he's done enough. A Championship club would make sense to me. Although I could see Fulham, Cardiff or Norwich be interested in him.

Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Well I didn't say he'd be aiming for a Barca, Bayern or the like! A good, mid-table Premiership club would suit him perfectly, as I said. Seems to be what he's holding out for as well.

Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Yeah well, I just think there are managers with far more impressive CVs and current reputation waiting for those jobs, too. IMO he'd be quite lucky to land a Premier League job.

Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Chelsea still paying Di Matteo £130,000 a week despite sacking manager last year
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2503321/Chelsea-paying-Roberto-Di-Matteo-130-000-week.html
Good for him I'd stay out of a job till the cheque stops coming in too.

Re: Roberto Di Matteo "Buddha"
Ah yes, that. When he came out with the quotes a few months ago regarding his feelings on his Chelsea tenure, I believe it was, he mentioned that he's still receiving weekly cheques from the Russian (though obviously not in those exact words ) and is in no rush to take on a new job and thought, good for
him

Just read that we have the same number of points now as we did at this exact point last season under Robbie

The one key difference, we've qualified for CL knockout this season.

In a much easier group. Which we've limped through at best.
