I will take Rooney, Silva, Tevez, Balotelli, Bale, Aguero and probably others of EPL for Milan before RVP, if they were available.

Rooney has 20 goals in his 22 starts, he played in midfield in 5 of those occasions.

RVP has 26 goals in 27 starts and has not played any other position other than CF.

Pretty sure you give Rooney another 5 starts he would be close to RVP's output and if he actually played in CF every game and had every ball spoon fed to him he would be way past RVP's mark.

Rooney is the better overall player and even as a goal scorer I'd still take Rooney.
