He was listed on the released list, yes, but a player could feasibly still stay. Evening Standard now saying he hasn't been offered a contract and will be allowed to use the club's training facilities until in a bid to revive his career.

I don't have a problem with keeping him on a pay as you play since we'd be losing nothing and gaining a useful CM if he ever does regain fitness. At the same time, I can see why both he and the club might feel it's time for a fresh start, although, jokes about our medical staff aside, I'm not sure where he could go and find facilities as good as ours to overcome this hex.

But what about squad numbers? We should make way for someone who has more of a chance of featuring and contributing to the team.

Let him go, no point keeping even on free. We need to concentrate on the right players and stop being a charity club.

Really could have become one of the best but football gods were against him and maybe a smaller team would benefit him.

I'm assuming you mean registration and not actual kit numbers...

I don't think that's a big deal. Register him if you're certain he's fit. Keep him unregistered if he's injured and he doesn't take up space, as has been the case for the past few years...

We currently have 22 spots of our 25 filled with ample room because U-21 first teamers like Chambers, Gnabry, Akpom etc. don't need to be registered.

That's without any summer sales so it doesn't seem like space would be a problem unless we kept the squad exactly as it is and added 3 signings on top of it. Which wouldn't make sense.
