Ramsey or Diaby?
Who should start for Arsenal?
I like Diaby, but I think it will be best for us to start Ramsey, he has been looking great and its his time to shine.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Diaby...I'm still not convinced by Ramsey jsut yet. I feel as though he's still finding his way on the field and needs to improve his decision making. Yesterday, in his brief cameo, he gave the ball away in 2 key areas which led to breaks. I like it how we're gradually giving him short appearances to grow his game again.
But also, start Ramsey? That would mean a Ramsey-Arteta-Cazorla midfield? That's alot of creativity but physically a very weak midfield. Diaby has height, strength, and ball control over Ramsey which is important considering we're playing without a real DM atm.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
I do agree but I dont think DIaby is fit to start, Ramsey is a strong guy and being around Carzola and Arteta will only make him better and Giroud is helping out so we could do with out Diaby if he is benched.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Ramsey looked really sharp at the end of the match, had some shots at goal and didn't get caught on the ball like the rest of our midfield did throughout the game.
Although in saying that we need a physical presence in the midfield or we will get torn apart by players like Dembele, just liked United did. Diaby just every time he got pushed to the ground looked injured and got up slowly, giving me very little confidence in him. We need a replacement for Song this week as I fear we will have problem with Liverpool although would like to see Coquelin start that game.

I know this may sound like a crazy idea what about Vermaelen going to midfield? and we make Mert and Kos start at the back.

Agree with that. It would have been fun to watch.
Just don't like to HAVE to rely on people coming off of long term injuries (Diaby & Wilshere) or a season of average or less performances (Ramsey) to instantly be able to look like they once did. It would be nice if everyone had to actually earn there place in the starting X1. Another option would have been nice.

Thats the the thing, we should have never sold Song. We had some competition in the midfield and we sell him and now we have to depend on Diaby and Ramsey who both should start off the bench.

We should get someone else to be frank, both are bench material. Would rather start Coquelin.

Song was tactically inept mate, it's a good thing that we got rid of him. Didn't listen to Bould's/Wenger's instructions and we all saw how much of influence Bould has nowadays. I'm sure Wenger will sign someone better to replace him.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
In all honesty, the look of Diaby Arteta & Cazorla has impressed me quite a bit. This time last season I was begging for us to flog Diaby. But the last two games from Diaby has shown improvements.
If we had won, or for that matter scored, we wouldn't event be having this discussion. For me, Ramsey lacks composure, physicality and drive, to be a starting player

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
I believe Ramsey is on the verge of returning to his old form and it would be nice to see him get ample enough opportunities for him to prove himself.
Diaby is doing okay, but will need time to find form. If he ever does find form, I would start him over Ramsey, because his power and directness can really add something to the team.
It's disappointing that some are calling them average or bench players. Both are very talented players who need form and confidence after difficult periods. Given Diaby's recent history with injuries, I think it'd be prudent to rotate him a lot with Ramsey. That way, we don't have to risk Diaby getting injured again and we can give Ramsey the necessary time to show what he can do.

Given the lightness of the midfield at the moment i would prefer diaby over ramsey.

Diaby FTW with the current squad.. C'mon lads we need at least one midfielder who is beyond a "capable" defender.

Easy decision, its Diaby.. as many said our midfield looks too light with Ramsey.. and i cant see many pros for choosing him over Diaby..

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
The problem with Ramsey is the lack of fluency in his game, he is always one pour touch or pass away from giving the ball back to the opposition

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
It's the same with Diaby. His tendency to dwell on the ball and run into a cul de sac really disrupts our attack at times.

Re: Ramsey or Diaby?
Coquelin is a natural holding CM. Ramsey and DIaby are not that good defensively.... but if you are looking for attacking skills, Coquelin is 3rd in this group by a lot.
I personally think you start Coquelin and push Arteta forward. You put everyone in their natural positions as opposed to trying things out.

im sure thats what we mean. arteta shouldn't really be playing dm for us. with our roster as constituted coqueilin should be partnered with him to provide that defensive stability in midfield, even though coquelin offers more than that
